    电影喜福会-观后感-Reflection-of-The-Joy-Luck-Club(共3页).docx

精选优质文档-倾情为你奉上Reflection of The Joy Luck Club (电影 喜福会 观后感)This movie depicted different life experience of four pairs of Chinese mother and daughter. Though distinct grievous life stories they had, these four Chinese mothers were all born and bred under the background of feudal Chinese regime, cultivated by Chinese traditional feudalism, and fatefully, their lives were poisoned and destroyed by malignant tumor of Chinese backward culture and ideology, for example, women are subordinated to men. More unfortunately, the four daughters who were born and educated in America, assumed to avoid from the influence of Chinese feudal culture, still inherited deformed character, like without self-value and spirit; extended last generations tragedymisery marriage. The mothers could not bear to witness identical tragedies happening again onto their daughters. Therefore, they broke silence and spoke out the painful secrets to redeem their daughters lives. The first pair is Junes mother and June. In Junes eyes, her mother required her to be the best in every way, which was much over her capability. Her mother gave her heavy pressure since she was only a child, forcing her to play the piano, training her to be a pianist. However, this pressure which was good intention of her mother had been distorted into unbearable torture to little June both physically and mentally. Thus, Junes anger erupted:“Im not your slave. It isnt in China. You cant make me. You want me to be someone Im not. I never can be the kind of daughter you want me to be.” Indeed, Junes mother pushed her daughter forward so hard all the years, regardless of Junes heart affordability and feelings. Nevertheless, to some extent, Junes mother is not the one should be blamed, because abandon her twin babies in war time, which made her grieved to dead. After Junes birth, the mother transferred all her love and hope to cultivate June, including the love to those twin babies. The triple love pressed June breathlessthree children in one. Thinking about the present society, there is no lack of similar examples. Parents transfer all their love, care, hope, desires, regrets, pities to the next generation, boosting them to grow, or rather strangling them to grow. On account of one-child policy, this phenomenon seriously deteriorates: prenatal trainingdo not lose from the starting line; in childhood, instruments trainingpiano, violin, drum; other skillsheart abacus, ballet, singing; in adulthood, driving license, computer certificate, English-ability certificate, higher education diploma, the more the better. The parents would love to implant all kinds of skills into the little poor creature(child)s head. The most humane cultivation becomes the most inhumane traininga tender, innocent baby is trained to be a tough amoral “gold digger” in the society, which results from the overloaded love from parents and grandparents. But sympathetically, the most essential ability was wholly neglected by the eldershipslove. Love engenders care, sympathy, honest, faith, tolerance, and respect. Therefore, a child trained with versatility instead of love makes no difference to a killer or a robot. Here comes the second pair:mother Lindo and daughter Waverly. Waverly was a talented chess player in her youth, who even won Chess Champion in Chinatown once. But one day, the war between her and her mom broke out,“Why do you use me to show off? I wish you wouldnt do that telling everyone Im your daughter. Its embarrassing”. Little Waverly said to her mom straightforward, and inevitably, the words deeply stabbed and hurt the mothers heart and pride. This wound was unrecoverable, but for a ten-year-old child, the words were no more than a little temper. From then on, Waverly tried her utmost to please her mom. However, in return, her mother responded merely with either indifference or criticise, not a bit content. Waverly felt frustrated and fretful in never winning her mothers satisfactory, and yelled, “you dont know the power you have for me. One word, one look, and Im four years old again, crying myself to sleep, because nothing I do can ever, ever please you”. How bitter the words were! If a child never get mothers acclaim and encouragement, how sorrowful ones heart feels! Here comes a contrasting comparison of western and Chinese parentingwestern parents encourage and praise their child much more often than Chinese parents do. This encouragement helps them create new ideas, independent opinions, developing unique and sparkling characters. Whereas Chinese parents believe in the old saying, “a strict teacher produces outstanding students”, strictness and criticism are important educating guide lines for Chinese parents, which results in obedience and collectivism, compromise, no psyche and no guts to say no. But on the other hand, Chinese do behave better in harsh and high-pressured condition due to their strict training in childhood. The third pair of roles are mother Yingying and daughter Lena. The conflict is not between the mother and daughter, but the daughter and her husband. Lena married to her boss Harold who paid himself seven and a half times more than he paid Lena, but sarcastically, they paid everything 50/50. If Harold ordered three courses, and Lena only ask for a salad, they still split it into half and half. Magazines, ice-creams and those stuff that Lena would not touch also need to share the money in half. That was what they calledequal. What was the marriage like? What was the marriage based on? The equality on the surface was definitely unequal in real. But Lena dared not protest. She felt sick of the so-called equal, but didnt bold enough to change it, because she was accustomed to submit, to give in, to swallow the pain in order to avoid conflict and keep in harmony. Actually, she didnt notice the root of the problemLena didnt have the spirit and self-ego, not knowing what she need and what she should have. But her mother saw it and said,“Do not come back until he can give you these things (respect and tenderness) with both hands open.” Say no resolutely to unequal marriage; Say no to the man who takes advantage of women; say no to the man who discriminates women. Women are equal to men and commanded to win mens respect and tenderness in return. In contemporary society, there are more and more brilliant female role models in various sectors, which exemplifies the importance and contribution of women for the society. The fourth pair are mother Ah Mei and daughter Rose. Roes married Ted, a white man, whose dad was on publishing empire, and moms family had wineries. Though gigantic differences in social status and wealth they had, Rose and Ted married happily and had a lovely daughter. But good time did not last long. For years, Rose endeavored to look after the family and take care of all the chores perfectly, but Ted just took all the things for granted and became bored to her. He talked to her less and less, and finally got an affair. Evaluating the role of being a wife, Rose was a qualified one beyond doubt, while assessing being Rose herself, she should get a low mark, because her smartness, wit, confidence and youth gradually elapsed. She desired nothing for herself, like comfort from Ted and acclaim for a delicate arrangement. In a word, she lost herself. On the verge of divorce, her mother Ah Mei said to her,“What are you going to ask for? What is your worth?”This words sobered Rose who used to think that her love was less worth than her husbands. after founding herself back, she soon won her husband back. Losing herself in a marriage little by little is a typical and common phenomenon existing nowadays, which leads to lose her husbands love. In fact, wife is only one role for a woman, but she should have much morean excellent manager in work, a perfect dancer in club, a loving mother in family, a stylish woman in friends eyes. All these roles together make an attractive woman. However, Being attractive is not aimed to please ones husband, but to live a real lifea life that a woman should live. The four mothers were like ugly ducks in feudal Chinese society, stretching necks to America. In America, they had a daughter respectively. Over there, nobody would say their daughters worth were measured by the loudness of their husbands belch. They hoped their daughters could get rid of the fate of being an ugly duck, and became a beautiful white swan. They fought for the hope for a whole life. The joy luck club was the connection of the four mothers, hoping good luck every week. But the good luck was not a little fortune of money, but happiness for their daughters, and stability and health for their own, which was so simple and basic. The four daughters had different fates and encountered diverse problems in life. Some of them lacked of confidence and courage, some of them lost psyche and self-ego, but to summarize, they were, deeply influenced by the parenting of their mothers, and more or less affected by Chinese feudalism and social morality. Their deformities in character still prevalently exist in contemporary society, and reflect serious social problemsdiscrimination and inequality to women, self-debasing by women and so forth.
