精选优质文档-倾情为你奉上Effective intervention of childhood obesityObese children in todays society were already a serious problem. More than 20% Australian children were overweight or obese (Booth et al., 2003; Dixon, HG 2007, pp. 1311-132). Causes of child obesity there were many factors, such as commercial advertising of junk food, family eating habits. However, the public was more willing to believe that obesity was largely affect by the television advertising of junk food, and restricting on television advertising would control the rate of childhood obesity. Actually, many experts were given a number of effective childhood obesity intervention methods that not only restrict advertising, but also the impact of parents on children and the environment, whereas the parents in this intervention were most effective. This has been mentioned by Carter (2006).Although TV advertising is not most factor, according to Dixons opinion (2006), the research showed that the limit of TV advertising of junk food and increased healthy food advertisement was some function of controlling childhood obesity. First of all, children who used TV frequently in family were easily influenced by content of unhealthy food advertising. The reason was that advertisement potentially encouraged children eating no nutritional food, which through replaying the advertisement caused psychological implications for children. As Dixon pointing out, TV ads made children have a negative attitude on the fruits and vegetables. Furthermore, children's eating attitudes and requirement directly affect the parents of food purchases and choices. Thus, changing or controlling advertising of junk food bounded to transform childrens eating habits. In addition, the surrounding environment was of big effect to child's intervention, such as school education, food proved by school canteens and social effect. Obviously, in the day time the children spent more than half time stay at school. If school has support healthy food and organization appropriate physical exercises, it would decrease the risk of childhood obesity (King, L& Gill, T 2008). In addition, when students had dinner as main meal in school, they should be added the vegetable and fluid. Meanwhile raising their awareness of eating health food helped prevent overweight. On the other side, social played an role in intervention of obese children. A lot of primary schools students lost opportunities to walk to school or play in the park, because of safety problem. Unlikely 30 years age, children spent time on active instant of sitting in front of TV. If society can created a safe social environment, parents would allow their children to have more outdoor exercise, which could help reduce the rate of childhood obesity. Therefore, the environment has also become a means of intervention in childhood obesity. There was an obvious data show that parents intervention on obesity was the dominance, compared to TV advertising and schooling. According to Ashtons research, it observed that parental behavior was 50 larger than TV ads. In 2010, Truby study also supposed in terms of this view. Truby claimed that parents life style had direct impacted on children. For example, same of young parents were too busy to cook for their children. They bought fast food to children. Fast foods lead to children intake high amounts of food, because the food was too salt or too sweat. What is worse, fast food enriched quite high energy, which was over childrens daily needs. This was not surprising that children became fat. More precisely, their parents made this problem. In the other words, the parents were childrens first teachers; they directly supervised and intervened children. Therefore, parents set a good example, establish healthy eating habits and control the food intake became very important. In summary, factors that affect childhood obesity, television advertising, social environment and parenting. Although there were many means and methods of intervention, the parents of the intervention were the most direct and effective.字典1. 名词 1. overtake2. 动词 1. exceed2. surpass3. outpace4. outstrip5. outdistance6. outride专心-专注-专业
