Accuracy and repeatability of the analyzer were verified by testing reference materials. The authors also studied the effect of moisture content and density of rock or soil specimens on the test result. Results showed that accuracy and reproducibility of Hot Disk thermal constants analyzer were quite good, and it was suitable for measuring thermal properties of rock and soil. The effect of moisture content on thermal properties of rock and soil was regular and significant, while the effect of density was miner. Finally, the authors gave appropriate testing parameters and suggestions.
