Analysis of the Unit and the Text In this unit students will reflect on their final year of junior high school and look toward the future. They will set goals and make plans that will help them achieve their goals. The content of Lesson 5 is about describing their own future. 2. Analysis of the Students The students of Grade Nine have mastered plenty of vocabularies and phrases. They can talk about their future freely. They are interested in the topic of future and learning about different kinds of jobs. 3. Teaching Goals Language Knowledge (1) All the students can read and write the words “wealth, astronaut, boss and manage” . (2) All the students can read and understand the meaning of the words “doubt” correctly. (3) Most of the students can use the words above and the following phrases and patterns through describing their own future. A. grow up B. invent things that help improve the environment C. choose the most fun and exciting job in the world D. It would be fun to do./ I think I would like to be . E. I don t think wealth is the most important thing in life. Language Skills (1) All the students will be able to describe their future using the words we learned in this lesson as well as other words. (2) Most of the students will be able to learn to describe their future simply. Moral Objects (1) Let students work hard and be confident of their abilities. Sing “ Christmas song ” together while Santa Claus is sending out his gifts in class. 2. Say “ Merry Christmas” to each other. Step II: Lead-in Learn the new words (4 )1. Ask students if they like Santa Claus. 2. Tell them Santa Claus brings happiness to us and he is a helpful man. 3. Ask students to be a helpful man when they grow up. 4. Ask them “ What do you want to be in the future? ” and answer the questions freely. 5. Show the pictures of Ma Yun and Wang Liping and teach the new words. Step : Listen and Fill in the blanks(4 )1. Listen and fill in the blanks. 2. Check the answers. Step IV: Read Lesson 55 and choose the right answers(3 ) 1. Ask students to read silently and scan the text for target information and choose the right answers in a certain time. 2. Get the main idea about Lesson 55. Step V: Learn about more jobs and talk about them (10 )1. Ask them “ How many job words they can find” and have a PK in groups. 2. Think about these questions: A. Are some jobs better than other jobs? B. What job do you like best? Why C. What job do you dislike? Why? 3. Tell them they can match their talents and interests. .Step : Write a composition (15 )1.According to their interests and talents, write a composition named “ I want to be” . 2.Read them in front of the class and share them with others. Step : Homework (1 )Finish the composition.Blackboard DesignUnit 10 Get Ready for the Future Lesson 55 Look into the Future 精品文档收集于网络,如有侵权请联系管理员删除Be confident of yourself and have a bright future.四Teaching reflection 本单元主要是 以描述人为话题而展开学生活动, 而本课内容是让学生学会准确地描述老师,从而拓展延伸到会描述人。我认为本节课有三大亮点:1. 通过猜谜游戏,让学生快速地进入到课堂中来,培养了学生学习英语的兴趣;同样又是猜谜游戏,很自然地引出了本节课的新单词,让学生在一种快乐神秘的氛围下学习新内容;2. 在处理文本这一环节,通过设置不同层次的四个任务,采取小组合作互帮互学的方式,真正地体现了分层教学,迎合了不同层次的不同学生的不同需求,同时培养了学生的小组合作竞争意识;3. 利用最美教师张丽莉的视频把本节课推向高潮,从而让学生感受到老师的伟大,可爱和美丽,敬佩感恩之情油然而生,从而努力学习来回报老师。通过讲授Lesson 5 ,我认为本节课存在两个不足之处:1. 对于本课的单词词组的讲授还是过于简单,在讲授新单词的同时缺少点拨背诵单词的技巧,没有设置配套的单词词组练习题,不利于反馈学生掌握新单词的情况。2. 本节课对于文本的处理还应再深入挖掘,比如可增设课文复述,任务型阅读等环节,为学生描述自己最喜欢的老师做好铺垫。
