Lesson 2 Meet You in BeijingI. AnalysisAnalysis of this lesson: This lesson begins with an e-mail form Li Ming to Jenny. They will meet in Beijing and have a pleasant trip to China together. This lesson talks about trip and plan. It is close to the students life so it can stimulate students interest in learning. Analysis of students: Students are in the second term of Grade 7. The new words are abstract for them, so I should make up some sentences with these new words. I will let them know and understand the new words in real life situation. Considering students different abilities, I divide one task into two levels. So the students can choose the one that they can do.II. Teaching AimsKnowledge: 1. Master the new words: exciting, along, kilometre, special, culture, leave and arrive. 2. Talk about distance. Master the key sentences: How far is it from. to.? It is kilometre(s). 3. Can use Simple Future Tense.Ability: 1. Develop the students ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing. 2. Encourage students to express themselves in English, especially talk about plan for a trip or other activities. Emotion: 1. Let the students know more about Chinese culture. 2. Arouse the students interest in learning English and enhance their confidence to speak English. 3. Encourage students to make plans for themselves and improve their speaking abilities. III. A trip is close to students, so it is easy to stimulate students interest.Step 2: Learn New WordsT: Look at the screen. Lets see my plan for our trip to Beijing.On the first day, we will visit Tiananmen Square, the Palace Museum and the Great Wall. They are old buildings in China, so we will learn about the culture of China.(Students read “culture” together then read it one by one.)On the second day, well walk along Wangfujing Street. And well eat Beijing Duck. It is the special food of Beijing.(Students read “along” “special” together then read it one by one.) On the third day, well visit Happy Valley. Well play many games there. Listen and judge.Develop students listening skills. Let them have a general idea of the lesson.Step 4: ReadingT: Now we know Li Ming and his friends will visit Xian and Lanzhou. What else will they do? Read and choose.Develop students reading skills. Let them know the details of this lesson. And emphasize the new words in the exercise.Step 4: ExerciseT: Look at these pictures. They are Li Ming and his friends plan for their trip. Look at them then finish the dialogue. Review new words again. Practice the Simple Future Tense. Step 5: Practice T: Look at the blackboard. Lets say something about Li Mings trip together.Li Ming and his friends will learn about the culture of China. Theyll walk along the Silk Road. They will eat special food of China. The second one is to write a short passage by yourself.Students have two choices. They can choose only one task that they are able to do.Homework: Finish the dialogue or your plan.Preview Lesson 3.VI. Reflection After Class 1. Exercises and practices of this lesson are close to students life. It is easy to stimulate students to take part in class activities. They can understand and use new words and the Simple Future Tense well. 2. I divide the tasks into two levels so the students can choose one they can do. It is useful for all of the students to take part in class activities actively. 3. I lead the students talk about Li Mings plan in general then talk about my plan in details. At last let them talk about or write down their own plans. Students can learn how to make a plan step by step.4. This lesson also has some shortage. For example I should give students more time to practice.
