It is also a good aiding method of improving the relationship between the teacher and students. In recent years, the game-teaching in primary English classes has been used more and more widely. Especially since the implementation of the new courses reform, the development of students learning interest has been paid more and more attention to and the teaching thought of student-centered has tapped into teachers mind. However, with the scope of game-teaching widening and its frequency increasing, there have appeared some relative problems. Therefore, this paper is mainly based on the analysis and conclusion of those problems of game-teaching in English classes of primary students and thus puts forward some useful measures. It has discussed English teaching and backgrounds and analyzed the advantages of game teaching and the significance of the study. This paper aims to illustrate the common problems that exist in primary English class and thus figures out systematical solutions. Key words: game teaching; primary English class; problems ; solutions小学英语课学堂游戏教学中的常见问题及对策 摘要:课堂游戏的特点是寓教于乐,营造轻松愉快的学习气氛,激发学生的学习兴趣,树立学生的自信心。在改善师生关系方面,它也是一个很好的辅助手段。近年来,小学英语课堂游戏教学的运用越来越广泛,特别是新的课程改革推行以来,学生学习兴趣的培养愈来愈受到重视,以学生为主体的教学理念深入“教师”的心。但是随着游戏教学实施范围的扩大,频率的增多,相应的问题也就随之而出现,因此本文就是基于对小学英语课堂游戏教学中存在的问题进行归纳分析总结,并提出相应的可实施的对策。本文首先是对小学英语教学现状及背景做了简单阐述,随后分析了游戏教学的优点和本文研究的重要意义。着重探讨了小学英语课堂游戏教学中存在的问题,并针对这些问题提出了系统的、可实施的对策。关键词:小学英语课堂; 游戏教学; 问题; 策略;I Introduction1.1 Overview of English TeachingIn the field of Second Language Acquisition (SLA), it has been widely realized that children learn language more easily and learn better than adults, which mean that there is an important period for children to learn second language. Thats to say, age does play an important role in successful second language learning. The problem of English teaching has got more and more attention in recent years. As English become more and more regarded as an international language, its increasingly included in primary curricula. Our government has emphasized the importance for primary school to give several hours of English teaching every week if the conditions are permitted. Ministry of education has carried out the new English curricula standard, which state English should be a course in all primary school. Although English become a major course in primary school, there are some problems in English teaching. We all know, game teaching is one of the best measures in the primary English class, but many teachers are not good at using English games when they are teaching. With the scope of game-teaching widening and its frequency increasing, there appeared some relative problems. So this paper is aimed to find some common problems and figure out some solutions of game teaching in the primary English class.1.2 BackgroundsIn modern times, information filled with world with the process of globalization, it requires a higher level of English for the whole country to adapt to the development of the society. English becomes an important tool for people to communicate with foreigners. English has been set as a compulsory course in schools, which there are four hours every week and students English scores have relation with their future. Under such circumstances, China has figured out a curriculum reform aiming to improve the current English teaching. Much attention has been paid to change the traditional and conventional English teaching in order to adapt to the modern times. The English Curriculum Standards distributed by the education ministry of China has singled out the goal of English course in primary schools during the compulsory education on December 25th, 2002. It aims to motivate and cultivate students interest and self-confidence, and help them have good learning habit and develop their self-taught ability in learning English, so that they will have their own useful strategies to deal with their studies. Furthermore, students should learn the basic language knowledge, gain primary sense of language, master the language skills and acquire the capability of using English in their daily life. It is essential to develop the students intelligence and interest in learning English. In recent years, with the development of quality-oriented education, more and more teachers and experts pay much attention to game teaching method in primary class. However, the system of English education in our country is still exam-oriented, which focus on knowledge input. As a result, it reduces the students interest and lowers their exam scores. According to the childrens Psychological characteristics, game teaching can arouse childrens interest. It has been found that one appropriate method to encourage children acquisition language is using games. Children have a need to be motivated by the teacher or the material, and they are easier to be motivated. Many teachers think game teaching is a better way to arouse the interest of the children in the primary English class. John Dewey claimed games were integral to schooling since they provided active and positive learning experience. Since the implementation of curriculum reform, most English teachers have used games in the process of English teaching in the primary classroom. Game teaching has changed the atmosphere of English class at some extent. Whats more, it improves the enthusiasm of the children. But there are still some problems exist in English class. For example, the games are not relation to the course, and children learn nothing from the class; some games are not suitable for children, and the children are hard to take part in it.1.3 Advantages of Games in English TeachingIn our country, children usually think that the teachers always are absolutely right, and the traditional concept need game teaching to change the situation; Students are scared to speak English; The reasons are not only include teaching materials, teaching methods, and the education system, but also include the responsibility of Chinese traditional culture. For a long time, when educate children, people usually have such concept-"obedient", the disadvantages of this kind of idea, is indirectly kill the enthusiasm of the students dare to speak. Game is a kind of activity with less pressure and its competition is not very strong, which can motivate students to speak freely. In the process of primary English teaching, teachers should focus on encouraging the students to speak English. China's education system may limit the rights of students to "speak" at some extent, and the fundamental reason is Chinese traditional culture. Basically, game teaching will play an important role in changing the traditional class.Primary student's psychological characteristic decided that they need games to learn English. In primary school, the students rely on teachers in emotional, and for them, learning English should be a kind of game activities that need a great deal of enthusiasm, emotion. Because many students have some personality factors, which they may be shy in the early stages of the study, so one of the teacher's tasks is to create a harmonious atmosphere as much as possible. Game teaching is a better way for students to learn English, through some interesting games in class, especially the students are cooperate to complete the games, which can eliminate students' psychological anxiety and dare to speak in public. According to Elementary student's psychological characteristic (or the age of 6 12 particularity of cognition), they haven't determine self-centered demand as the goal in learning. They have no demand for foreign language in the process of learning English, nor the internal motivation of learning, so language teacher should be able to help them to form the internal motivation. And game teaching is a good way to inspire students' needs and interests of learning English. The characteristic of the game is fun, competitive, which can make the classroom atmosphere more active and stimulate the imagination of the students. Entertaining can be effectively combined with primary school students psychological characteristics, it can help the students find pleasure through games and increase the chances of using language.Elementary student's physiological characteristics determine the form of class must be diversified, and game teaching is the most effective way for elementary students to learn English. It is difficult to make the students concentrate on learning English in the whole class. Daniel thinks, elementary students just concentrate on something for 5 10 minutes. Therefore, class activity duration should be reasonable .The regular class time is 40 45 minutes, an effective English class, not merely teachers should explain learning material, but with some interesting games. Designing game reasonably, can make the classroom teaching full of vitality. Arranging game scientifically, can make the English teaching effectively. English teachers should fully consider the students' physiological characteristics and primary school students' ability to design the games and contents.II Significance of the Study2.1 To Improve the Teaching MethodologyIt can improve the primary school English teaching method through study the game teaching. In our country, the development time of primary school English teaching is not long, which has not yet formed complete primary school English teaching method. With game teaching method used in class, it has brought fresh blood for the primary school English teaching and enriched the English class. So it has high theoretical research value.2.2 To Help Comprehensive Development of StudentsIt is advantageous to the comprehensive development of students. Game teaching can stimulate the interest of children learning English and improve the enthusiasm of English learning. At the same time, the games such as militate game, team cooperation game ,they can  foster the innovation ability of students,  the ability of imagination ,the communication ability,  and cooperation ability, etc. Totally, it can improve the diathesis of students and promote their comprehensive development.2.3 To Develop Teachers Professional SkillsIt is advantageous to the primary school English teachers' professional development. With the development of the new curriculum reform, the traditional mode that students passively listening class has been replaced, the new curriculum reform stressed new mode that the students are the main body in class and there is interaction between students and teachers. The introduction of game activities in classroom teaching is a big test for the teacher's professional quality and comprehensive ability. From another point of view, it can help teachers to renew the idea of education, improve teacher's professional skills, accumulate the knowledge, and greatly promote the teacher professional development.III Common Problems  As a new teaching form, English game teaching has been more and more popular with the students and has been widespread adopted by English teachers. It creates lifelike, full of communicative language environment for primary school students learning English; and it can provide students with fascinating form of practice, thus improve the language practice ability; meanwhile, it can effectively improve the students' study enthusiasm, make them with high enthusiasm to participate in teaching activities. Students can learn in a relaxed and active atmosphere in the process of language acquisition. Accompanied with the carrying out of the new English Curriculum Standard there are a lot of new problems arising from the field of English teaching in the primary schools. Those problems affect or limit the positive function of English game teaching. There are mainly the following questions:3.1 Low Quality of Teachers Professional LevelIt put forward quite a big test for teachers to arrange games in the primary school English classroom, it not only requires teachers under the guidance of scientific theory to design, arrange, act game, but also need the teachers' ability of controlling class and some comprehensive professional knowledge such as pedagogy, psychology and so on.3.1.1 Lack of Professional KnowledgeWith the economic and social progress and the deepening of education reform, the role of English teachers is changing. But some teachers don't realize the transformation of roles in the real English teaching, they still care about whether students have mastered the knowledge they given or not. It is hard to take care of improving the drive of learning English and improving the comprehensive quality of students. Using games in English classroom is the challenge for teaches, it not only requires teachers to understand the general knowledge of teaching methods and  English subject knowledge, but they also should be aware of the theory  of pedagogy, psychology, education of  psychology. In the game, teachers should not only let students acquire knowledge, but also exercise the students' comprehensive ability.3.1.2 Concept of Specialization is ObscureThe core of Teachers' specialization is the level of individual teacher specialization. Under the background of social demand for teachers, teachers should possess highly educated, at the same time they shall obtain corresponding professional teachers' qualification certificate. Teacher certification is the inevitable requirement of teachers' specialization level.3.1.3 Low Level of Professio
