Wlcome To Confucius Temple The Confucius Temple was originally built during the Song Dynasty , it is for consecrating and worshipping Confucius,the great thinker and eaucatur of ancient China. The confucius Temple is situatd on the north bank of the Qinhuai river , which is the place to be on weekends and holiday . Qinhuai River The Qinhuai River is the biggest river in Nanjing. Its also the birthplace of the age-old Nanjing culture. As such, its called Nanjings mother river. It is the life blood of the city. Qinhuai River is so fascinating that it captures the imaginations of people both at home and abroad. The Qinhuai River is divided into inner and outer rivers. Jiangnan Gongyuan First built in 1169 , it became the largest imperial civil examination hall in the Ming-Qing period, with 20644 rooms for examinees. In recent years some of the rooms have been restored , where such examinations are re-created for interested tourists. This West Garden of the Prince of Zhongshan Xu Da, in the Ming Dynasty was the temporary lodging of the Qing Dynasty emperor Qianlong during his inspection tour of South China and later served as the office of the Eastern Prince YangXiuqing of the Tai ping Heavenly Kingdom .Zhan Garden Lantern Festival confucius temple is perhaps at its best around time of the Lantern Festival.Lantern Festival is held during the 1st to the 18th days of the Lunar Year , when a spical exhibition of multi-sized and multi-coloured lanterns themed around the twelve animals of the lunar cycle lend afestive air to the temple.Qinhuai River Bazaar at Night At night the whole area is lit up with brilliant lights thus creating a very impressive scene. A lively street market is set up in the area and both locals and tourists take part in the bargain hunt. Taking a leisurely stroll along the riverside, seeing the Chinese vendors doing their business or boarding a colorfully decorated boats flowering through the aged river will be a memorial experience. it has re-expressed its splendid civilization to the world .In 1991,the Confucius Temple was elected the Forty Best Scenery Spots.Today, the entire area around the Temple consists of a series of tourist shops, snack bars, restaurants and entertainment arcades . There are several ways to approach the Fuzi Miao neighborhood. From the north (Xinjiekou, Gulou), the main entrance is at the intersection of Taiping Nan Lu and Jian Kang Lu. Bus number one terminates here. From the west, enter from Zhonghua Lu (buses 2, 16, 26, 33) and then walk east along Zhanyuan Lu. Alternately, take a taxi to Fuzi Miao this should cost approximately RMB 10-15 and take about 10 minutes. How to Get There
