The use of an inner ring is recommended for all PNdesignations and the purchaser should specify on his enquiryand/or order if an inner ring is required for PN 10, PN 16,PN 25 and PN 40 gaskets (see annex A).NOTE 2. The selection of gasket type should take into account thefluids, the operating conditions, the properties of the gasketmaterials, the type and surface finish of the flange facing and theflange bolt loading.
