Have an active opinion on jobs.Focus of the lesson and predicted area of difficulty:1. To match the jobs with the working places;2. When to use a and when to use an before a job;3. To use be going to to express future jobs.Teaching procedures:Step 1 Lead in:Ask students to talk about different jobs and learn some English expressions of jobs.-What is his job?/ What does he do?-He is a policeman./a postman./an office worker.-Where does he work?-He works in a police station./post office./company.Have the students read after the teacher.Complete Part A1.Step 2 ActivityGame time: Pick a student to pantomime, and the others write down the answers. Then lets see who can write the most correct ones.Invite the students to the front. Show him the pictures and let him act out without saying a word.Step 3 Listening IWell, you know, Im a teacher. What about my parents? What are their jobs? Can you guess?Have the students guess one by one. Praise the ones who guess out.Well, you are good guessers. My father is a worker and he taught me how to fix things. My mother is an office worker. She taught me to read books. I am very proud of them.Now, lets try Wendy. What are Wendys parents jobs? Can you guess?Let students listen and check.Play the tape and check the answers.(play again if necessary)Step 4 Listening IINow Millie is taking notes about Wendys family. Listen again and help Millie complete her notes.Giving instructions.By the way, you know, sometimes, the tape goes very fast, and you cannot write all the words. What can you do?(Teach the skills for listening)a. Have a look at the notes, then we can know what information we wantb.
