Unit 5 Why do you like pandas?【Teaching and learning Goals】:In this lesson, students will learn to use some description words, such as friendly, shy, smart, beautiful , scary, lazy etc. to describe animals. By listening and talking about animals, students can understand others preferences on animals and express theirs easily. Students should also know “Animals are our friends” after this lesson.【Teaching and learning steps】:Step I. Pre-listening activities1.Preview(1) A video about animalsT: In the last two classes weve learned many animals.Now lets see a video about animals. Please record as many animals as you can. What animals dont you like and why?Now turn on page 28 and look at the pictures in 1a. Match the description words with the animals. Before-listening activitiesThe teacher shows the pictures of animals and leads students to describe the animals in the pictures using“I like because. but I dont like. because.” .Eg: I like pandas because theyre friendly and cute, but I dont like lions because theyre scary.
