Some claim that this could happen in as little as ten years. Bananas are one of the world's most important food crops. They are also the fourth most valuable export. Bananas do not grow from seeds. Instead, they grow from existing plants. Bananas are threatened by disease because all the plants on a farm are copies of each other. They all share the same genetic weaknesses. For example, the Cavendish banana is most popular in American markets. It is an important export crop. However, some kinds of fungus organisms(有机体)easily infect the Cavendish. Black Sigatoka disease affects the leaves of Cavendish banana plants. The disease is controlled on large farms by putting chemicals on the plant's leaves. Farmers put antifungal(抗真菌的) chemicals on their crops up to once a week. Another fungal disease is more serious. Panama disease attacks the roots of the banana plant. There is no chemical treatment for this disease. Infected plants must be destroyed. Panama disease has affected crops in Southeast Asia, Australia and South Africa. There is concern that it may spread to bananas grown in the Americas. This could threaten an important export product for Central and South America. The International Network for the Improvement of Banana and Plantain supports research on bananas. The group has headquarters in France and other offices in the major bananagrowing areas of the world. The group says that more research must be done to develop improved kinds of bananas. The group says that fungal diseases mainly affect only one kind of banana. In fact, there are fivehundred different kinds of bananas. The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization says the Cavendish banana represents only ten percent of world production. The UN agency says farmers should grow different kinds of bananas. This protects against diseases that affect only one kind. Experts warn that disease may cause the Cavendish banana to disappear. This has already happened to one popular banana because of its genetic weakness against disease. 31. What does the passage mainly tell us?ABananas are the world's most important food crops.BThere are five hundred different kinds of bananas.CThe risk to a popular banana shows need to grow other kinds.DHow to grow bananas in different countries. 32. Bananas are threatened by diseases because _. Athey have genetic weaknesses against disease Bthey grow from the seed Cthey are one of the most valuable exports Dthe only way to prevent diseases is to put chemicals on their leaves 33. Panama disease_. Adoesn't belong to fungal disease Baffects the leaves of banana plants Chas spread to bananas in the world Ddestroys the bananas more seriously than Black Sigatoka disease 34. We can infer from Paragraph 6 that _. Athe center of the group is in the US Bthe key to solving the disease is to research all kinds of bananas Cthe Cavendish banana covers only a small part of the yield(产量) of bananas Deach fungal disease affects five hundred different kinds of bananas. Customer service refers to the way that companies behave towards their customers. It's the quality of service that determines whether the customer remains with the company. However, many a time organizations don't focus on customer relationship management, and that's what makes customers angry, which is one of the reasons why companies lose their customers. So customer service is vital and you should know how to improve it. First of all, you need to realize how important the customers are. It's they who are the boss, and it's because of them that you get your pay checks. So do take your customers seriously. Finding out the needs of the customers is another important customer service tip. You need to ask the customers the right kind of questions and think of the possible solutions which you can provide.Understand how they feel according to a particular situation their body language, tone of voice and words they speak. Never make assumptions and think that you know what the customers want. Making customers feel they are important is an excellent way to serve them better. Treat customers as individuals and the best way to do that is using their first name and finding ways of praising them in a sincere way. In addition, there are some other skills which will help you in serving your customers better. For example, once you finish solving the problem for the customers, before, ending the call, always remember to ask if there is anything else you can do for them. End the call with a “thank you”. If customers are angry, let them express their anger completely. Never interrupt or start speaking until they've finished. Once they've finished speaking, try to calm them down by apologizing. In a word, always remember that if the customers remain happy, you'll be in business.TitleHow to 35._ customer serviceThe meaning of customer serviceThe way companies behave towards their customers. The 36_ of customer serviceThe quality of customer service determines whether companies can 37._ their customers. push“推,推动”;rush“催促,冲”;draw“绘画,拉”;strike“打动,感动”。 15. A as usual“像往常一样”。 18. C when作“就在这时”解,相当于just then,带有一种突然性。19. A leave“使处于状态”。 walk up“走上前去”。21. D watch look carefully,故用C项 looked不妥。用A项 listened则与后面的could find不相呼应。22. 通过“In fact, there are fivehundred different kinds of bananas.”和“the Cavendish banana represents only ten percent of world production.” First of all, you need to realize how important the customers are. Finding out the needs of the customers is another important customer service tip. It's the quality of service that determines whether the customer remains with the company. Understand how they feel according to a particular situation一句中的feel转化而来的。41. assume42. sincerely根据第四段中finding ways of praising them in a sincere way. Once they've finished speaking, try to calm them down by apologizing. - 8 -
