    Unit 3 Could you please clean your room?Section A(1a-2c)Good afternoon! Im very glad to present my lesson here today. My topic is from Go for it Grade 8 Unit3 Could you please clean your room? I divided my teaching plan into 5 parts: the analysis of the textbook, the analysis of the class, teaching methods , teaching procedures and blackboard design. The analysis of the textbook The analysis of teaching material comes first. In this unit students learn to make polite requests and ask for permission. It is close to students lives and can arouse their interests. This lesson Ill teach section A.1a to 2c. All the activities are aimed to help students make polite requests and ask for permission And the target language is basic for Ss to learn the other contents of this unit.For students, they have learned how to request politely in Grade7. But they still need to exercise more to master the new contentsTeaching aims : Knowledge aims: 1.vocabulary:Ss will learn the words and phrases: rubbish, take out the rubbish, fold, sweep, , floor. 2. Target language : Could you please sweep the floor? Yes,sure. Could you please do the dishes?No problem.Could I watch TV?Yes, you can,but first you have to clean your room.Could I use your computer?Sorry. Im going to work on it now.They are supposed to make conversations with the new vocabulary and useful expressions。Affective aims: 1. To make the students make polite requests and ask for permission.2. To develop and establish Ss to understand, respect, love their parents and help them do chores at home.Ability aims: To practice Ss listening, speaking, reading and writing comprehensive abilities.Teaching focus and difficulties : 1.new words and target language. 2. How to make polite requests and ask for permission .Teaching tools : PPT. The Analysis of the condition of the students.The students of the age have a good knowledge of the Basic English grammar.they have learnt how to request politely in Grade 7.At the same time, the topic they like to talk. So we can take it as a revision lesson to make the students have a deep understanding about the key points. Teaching methods Next, I want to say something about the ways of teaching. We all know that it is very important to make the students focus on the topic which we are talking about . Ill try my best to make my class interesting and encourage every student to take an active part in the activities and let them have a chance to speak to the whole class to describe their likes and dislikes. So Ill mainly choose the Communicative Approach and Task based teaching methods. They will do some pair work and group work ,at the same time to cooperate with each other. .Teaching procedures : We come to the main part which includes 4 parts. Warming-up activities:After greetings ,Ill let the Ss sing an English song together. Then ask them some questions about their weekends and their parents daily life. It will interest the students to tell some information about their parents or themselves to the classmates. This part will cost 3 minutes.2. Presentation and practice Pre-task (Drill ): First, I will show a video named Cinderella and ask the Ss to tell us what Cinderella is doing? Then play a guessing game about some chores and teach the new words and phrases. Next I will let the Ss make a survey about chores they like doing or dislike doing. Finally encourage them to report and choose who is the most able person at home .At the same time ,I will ask them a question: If you dont like doing the chores that you have to do, who usually helps you? How can you ask for help? In this part, I will teach them to understand their parents and they should respect, love them. Also its very necessary and important for them to help their parents do some chores at home. Then present the conversation in activity 1b, Listening practice .Listen to the tape of 1b and ask: Who will do these chores, Peter or his mother? Why? Get them to check the answers. Then role play the conversation. This activity provides guided oral practice the target language. Next get the Ss to report the things Pete rand his mother will do. According to the listening material to help the ss to write. Then, Ill guide the ss to listen to the tape of 2a ,2b three times and finish the task. This activity provides practice in understanding the target language in spoken conversation. It will cost 30 minutes.Post-task ( Pairwork ): Show another picture, let the ss to find out the differences among the sentences and choose which one is the most polite .Then guide the ss to know how to make requests polite and ask for permission .In this part, I will let them know if you want to ask for help or permission, you should choose the most polite ways. Ss work in pairs .Ill give them some interesting situations. It will cost 5 minutes. Step 3.Summary and exercise I will let ss summarize the usage of the structure "Could you please?”Could I ?”Then ask them to fill in a chart and blanks .It can help them make requests polite , ask for permission and remember the new phrases.Step4. Homework. The last step is to assign the homework .I will ask the ss to finish a composition. V. Blackboard design. This is my blackboard design. On the top is the title of this lesson, and Ill write some structures of the expression. Its clear for Ss to know the important points they should remember. Unit 3 Could you please clean your room? Could you please(not) do.?Yes,sure. /Certainly/Yes, please./ No problem/Yes ,I can.Sorry, I cant. /Im sorry, but.Could/Can I do .?Yes , you can./No, you cant.Thats all for my presentation.
