Teaching Procedures:. Pre-Reading Step 1. Watch a video about the New Years resolutions to lead in. (设计目的:短视频既切合主题又幽默有趣,能快速导入主题,而且使学生感兴趣。) Step 2. Talk about the teachers New Years resolutions to introduce the new words and phrases.(设计目的:以老师的个人的新年决心来引入新单词和话题。)Step3. Play a game to review the new words and phrases, which can clean the obstacles of words before reading.(设计目的:通过游戏,让学生在玩中复习掌握重点单词和短语,扫清阅读障碍。). While-Reading Step 4. Task 1. Advise students to find the topic sentence of each paragraph to finish 2c. First, help them to get the main idea of Paragraph 1. Then, make the students finish Paragraph 2 and 3. In the end, ask the students to share how to find the answers. (设计目的:教学生通过找中心句的方法来找段落大意,降低阅读的难度,使学生克服对阅读的畏难情绪。) Step 5. Task 2. Read the passage again to finish 2b, put the sentences in the correct places, and give them some advice to help them to read. (设计目的:教学生通过联系上下文和找关键词的方法来还原句子,突破了学生阅读题型的一个难点,使学生不再害怕阅读。) Step 6. Task 3. Understand the passage paragraph by paragraph, by listening, reading, and finishing the mind map. It could help the students get to know each paragraph clearly.(设计目的:学生仔细逐段阅读课文,通过填写思维导图、听、读等多种形式来理解每一段。)Step 7. Task 4 Whats your New Years Resolution? And ask the Ss to ask the question “ Is it necessary for us to make a resolution?” (设计目的:根据对文章的理解,让学生谈论话题。). Emotion Education Step 8. Quote the old saying, where there is a will, there is a way, and encourage them to keep their resolutions and make themselves better and better. (设计目的:通过谚语,让学生记住并且坚持自己的决心,让自己变得越来越好。).
