Exercise (建议用时:35分钟;实际用时:分钟)阅读理解(福建漳州一中2019年高三模拟考)New App Helps People Remember FacesLarge gatherings such as weddings and conferences can be socially overwhelming. Pressure to learn people's names only adds to the stress. A new facialrecognition app could come to the rescue, but privacy experts recommend proceeding with caution. The app, called SocialRecall, connects names with faces via smartphone cameras and facial recognition, potentially avoiding the need for formal introductions. “It breaks down these social barriers we all have when meeting somebody,” says Barry Sandrew, who created the app and tested it at an event attended by about 1,000 people. After receiving an invitation to download SocialRecall from an event organizer, the user is asked to take two selfies and sign in via social media. At the event, the app is active within a previously defined geographical area. When a user points his or her phone camera at an attendee's face, the app identifies the individual, displays the person's name, and links to his or her social media profile. To protect privacy, it recognizes only those who have agreed to participate. And the app's creators say it automatically deletes users' data after an event.Ann Cavoukian, a privacy expert who runs the Privacy by Design Center of Excellence praises the app's creators for these protective measures. She cautions, however, that when people choose to share their personal information with the app, they should know that “there may be unintended consequences down the road with that information being used in another context that might come back to bite you.”The startup has also developed a version of the app for individuals who suffer from prosopagnosia, or “face blindness,” a condition that prevents people from recognizing individuals they have met. To use this app, a person first acquires an image of someone's face, from either the smartphone's camera or a photograph, and then tags it with a name. When the camera spots that same face in real life, the previously entered information is displayed. The collected data are stored only on a user's phone, according to the team behind the app.()1.SocialRecall is used to _.Atake photosBidentify peopleCorganize eventsDmake friends()2.Paragraph 3 is mainly about _.Ahow the app worksBhow the app was createdCwhat makes the app popularDwhat people can do with the app()3.SocialRecall helps people with prosopagnosia by _.Agiving names to the photos kept in their smartphonesBcollecting information previously entered in the phoneCproviding the information of a person when they first meetDshowing the person's information when it spots a stored face()4.What can we learn about SocialRecall from the passage?AIt may put people's privacy at risk.BIt has caused unintended consequences.CIt can prevent some communication disorders.DIt is praised by users for its protective measures.【语篇解读】本文是一篇科普类短文阅读。 根据文章第二段“The app, called SocialRecall, connects names with faces via smartphone cameras and facial recognition, potentially avoiding the need for formal introductions.” 故选A。 根据文章最后一段“To use this app, a person first acquires an image of someone's face, from either the smartphone's camera or a photograph, and then tags it with a name. When the camera spots that same face in real life, the previously entered information is displayed. The collected data are stored only on a user's phone, according to the team behind the app.” 根据文章第四段“She cautions, however, that when people choose to share their personal information with the app, they should know that there may be unintended consequences down the road with that information being used in another context that might come back to bite you.” 故选A。七选五(2019年安徽省“江南十校”综合素质检测)When big news breaks, it's easy to get caught up in following the story online. The Internet can be a place to find useful information. _1_ Helping kids understand the news and how to separate fact from fiction is an important job for parents and educators. Here's some advice that parents can offer kids to help them be quicker to judge as they consume news online._2_ In the rush to cover stories, reporters make mistakes, officials don't always have correct information and tidbits (八卦新闻) that sound reasonable often get passed around before anyone has checked them for accuracy.Use social media wisely. Some say Twitter is a great source of news in the first few minutes of a tragedy. _3_ On the other hand, Facebook can be a great way to connect with friends affected by events in the news and to spread personal news within a more limited circle.Be skeptical. _4_ After the Boston Marathon bombing, NBC Sports reported that some runners kept running all the way to the hospital to donate blood for the victims. Not true. There are plenty of websites devoted to exposing false news stories. The Washington Post also has a Fact Checker column that delivers claims made by public officials and politicians. Visit them to find out if a story is true.Keep it ageappropriate. Kids aren't always ready to digest big, tragic news especially if the news is about kids, such as school shootings or abuses. The constant repetition of information can be confusing for younger kids, and at the beginning of a news event, parents might not be able to offer any correct answers. _5_ARemember, breaking news is often wrong.BIt also can be the source of misinformation.CIf something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.DMake sure you and your kids aren't falling victim to false news.EHowever, after that it just becomes messy and largely inaccurate.FWith social media at your fingertips, it's convenient to express your opinion.GKids who are eager to learn more about certain events can check kidguided news sources.【语篇解读】本文是一篇说明文。 承接上文,B项“It also can be the source of misinformation(它也可能是错误信息的来源)”切题。 承接下文,A项“Remember, breaking news is often wrong(记住,突发新闻往往是错误的)”切题。故选A。 承接上文,E项“However, after that it just becomes messy and largely inaccurate(然而,在那之后,它就变得混乱,而且在很大程度上是不准确的)”切题。 承接标题和下文,C项“If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is(如果某件事听起来好得令人难以置信,那么它很可能不是真的)”切题。 承接上文,G项“Kids who are eager to learn more about certain events can check kidguided news sources(想要更多地了解某些事件的孩子可以查看儿童指导的新闻来源)”切题。 (安徽省师范大学附属中学2019年高三上学期9月份英语试题)A big storm destroyed two villages in South Africa on last Friday, causing 4 death.Over 200 people became homeless as a result of the storm.A farmer said the storm began early in the morning and last one hour.He said, “I was in the kitchen with my wife and children while we heard a loud noise.A few minutes late, our house fell down.I managed to climb out, but much to my shocking, one of my boys were missing.I quickly went back inside and found them safe but frightened.” Soldiers came to rescue those burying under the ruins, and the government provided food, clothes, and shelters for homeless.【语篇解读】本文记叙了上周五发生在南非两个村庄的大风暴所带来的严重后果。A big storm destroyed two villages in South Africa on last Friday, causing 4 .Over 200 people became homeless as a result of the storm.A farmer said the storm began early in the morning and one hour.He said, “I was in the kitchen with my wife and children we heard a loud noise.A few minutes , our house fell down.I managed to climb out, but much to my , one of my boys missing.I quickly went back inside and found safe but frightened.” Soldiers came to rescue those under the ruins, and the government provided food, clothes, and shelters for homeless.
