    高中英语人教版必修5 Unit 1阅读课说课稿Teaching Plan for Reading LessonGood morning, distinguished judges! My name is ABC. Its my great honor to be here to present my teaching ideas. Today my topic is: John Snow Defeats “ King Cholera”. My presentation consists of eight parts. Now please allow me to introduce them one by one.Part I. Analysis of Teaching MaterialThis unit is Unit 1 in Book 5 and my lecture is the first reading passage. By learning this passage, students can master some language points and further practise their reading skills.Part II. Analysis of the LearnersAs the first grade students in senior high school , students in Class 7 already have a good command of English vocabularies. Besides, they are fairly active in participating in class activities. Most of them are quick learners and look forward to new tasks and activities designed by their teacher.Part III. Teaching AimsFirst, about knowledge aims. Students are supposed to have a good command of the words and phrases in the reading passage. Besides, they should get an idea about the steps on how to conduct a scientific research.Second, about ability aims. Students can practise such reading techniques as skimming and scanning. In addition, they can perceive the usage of past principle as attribute and predicative.Third, about emotional aims. Students can be encouraged and inspired by the scientific spirits like persistence and carefulness. Meanwhile, students will learn to be rigorous no matter what they do.Part IV. Teaching Key Point and Difficult PointMy teaching key point in the class is to help students master the usage of key words and phrases such as “attend”, “expose”,“suspect”, “ be to blame ”, “put forward”, etc. And my teaching difficult point is how to help students develop their reading ability.Part V. Teaching and Learning MethodsIn order to realize the principal that students will be centered, I will adopt such teaching methods as task-based teaching, cooperation-based teaching, etc. For my students, they are supposed to learn through independent exploration and cooperative discussion. Part VI. Teaching AidsDuring the teaching process, I need some teaching aids, including a blackboard, a computer and some PPT files.Part VII. Teaching ProceduresIn order to arrange my teaching procedures systematically and logically, I will divide my teaching procedures into six steps.Step 1 is “Warming Up”.As the unit is about “Great scientists”, Id like to design a task which needs students to match the descriptions with their corresponding scientists. Such an activity will arouse students interest in learning more about scientists.Step 2 is “Pre-reading”.At this stage, students need to make a prediction according to the title. This task can help them guess the content of the passage.Step 3 is “While-reading”.During the reading phase, I set three tasks to help my students to understand the passage thoroughly. The first one is asking students to read the passage carefully and fill out blanks to help them understand the general idea of each paragraph. The second one is requiring students to match scientific stages with their corresponding paragraph of the passage. The third one is expecting students to number a few events in the order that they happened. After students finish the three tasks, they are clear about the structure of the passage and how John Snow defeated cholera.Step 4 is “Post-reading”.After students have a good understanding of the passage, they need to render what they have learned from the passage. Therefore, in this section, I set a discussion task which centers on the topic “What will you need to do if you want to be a successful and great scientist like John Snow”. This activity aims not only to train students oral English, but also to help them set a goal and make practical plans.Step 5 is “Summary”.I will ask one student to summarize what he/ she has learned in the class, and another student to complement the neglected information. Through making a summary, students are easier to memorize the key language points rendered in the class.Step 6 is “Homework”.As for homework, students are required to find as much information as they can about a scientist they admire most and summarize why he/she can make great achievements. It is recommendable that they write down some key words to help them present their ideas orally next class.Part VIII. Blackboard DesignIn order to make the blackboard design clearly and neatly, I will first write down the topic in the very middle of the blackboard. Then I will arrange the seven scientific stages on the left and the important words and phrases on the right.In a word, the whole teaching plan is based on tasks and cooperation, meeting the requirements of developing students knowledge and qualities.Thanks for your attention.第 3 页 共 3 页学科网(北京)股份有限公司
