The specialty groups are designed to take full advantage of a comprehensive university with interdisciplinary subjects, and are aimed at better serving regional economy and the needs of city development. Revisions have been made several times to the training plan to stress the prominence of integrity education. At the same time the General Education System is made a critical component to educate students all-roundly. Parallel to the quality education system is the practical job ability training system. By using PST-CCE as a major device, all field-training courses are project-led. With an increased number of such courses, students employment competitiveness has taken a great leap. In 2010, two talent training research projects were approved by the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education as Innovative Experimentation Area. The system comprises two sub-systems: a quality education system working on such aspects as faith, culture and civilization, life, interpersonal relationship, social conditions as well as common sense; a discipline system, targeted on students conduct and habit-forming. The Trinity supervising system incorporates a life supervisor, a class supervisor and a political counselor. Freshman students in every two dormitory rooms are assigned a life supervisor, and each class a professional supervisor, each grade in every school a political counselor. Department has introduced a club system to replace traditional P.E. class. Such an approach has stimulated students interest in sports and sporting hobby, and has significantly improved their sporting skills. But the fundamental goal is to make sport their lifelong habit. The department has reformed the traditional physical education boldly, and has established 16 sports clubs, including football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis, table tennis, track and field, etc. Students can choose their favorites according to their own preferences and physical conditions.
