From her childhood, she, as a gifted girl, hoped to become a scientist.In 1895 she married Professor Pierre Curie. They researched together into radioactive matters and discovered pure polonium and radium. It was because of their remarkable findings that they won the Nobel Prize for physics in 1903. After her husband died, she wasnt frustrated and continued her research. She received a second Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 1911. So she became the first scientist in the world to win two Nobel Prizes and due to her substantial contribution, she was acknowledged as one of the greatest women scientists in the world.
