complete the sentences.Having attended a first aid course,Brian Cracknell soon found himself responding to two emergencies in a weekand felt so motivated that he s now signed up to be a first aid volunteer.Brian was at work in his bus company office in Weston-super-Mare on 18th May when a colleague called to say there had been an accident at a nearby bus stop.He raced to the scene with his first aid kit and found an elderly lady sitting at the bus stop, who had painfully scraped her skins when boarding the bus. Both her legs were quiet badly injured, with the skin scraped away and bleeding.Let s take a look at Brian s first aid experiences.I introduced myself and made sure somebody called for an ambulance and asked some basic first aid questions to get a general picture of her health. Then I put my jacket on the floor, using the lady s coat as a pillow, and gently laid her down so I could raise her legs and apply some bandages.I made sure she was as comfortable as possible and kept reassuring her that everything would be fine.At first,I was a bit worried about remembering to do all the right things, but once I started,it went very well. When I d nearly finished,I told the lady“You re my first one”and she said“Well, don t worry;you re doing a great job”.Afterwards, the lady and her husband couldn t thank me enough. When the doctors and nurses arrived, they also told me I d done a great job,so I was floating on the air.Just a week later,Brian got a second call-out to help another lady in distress(悲伤)at a bus stop.Having used his new skill twice in quick succession, the bus company officer has now decided to sign up as a Red Cross first aid volunteer. As Brian put it,“It felt really good to help those people in need.I was so proud of myself afterwardsso I m going to join the Red Cross.”Answer the questions:1.What was Brian doing when he was called to give first aid to an elderly lady on 18th May?_ 2.What did the elderly lady think of Brian s first aid skills?_ 3.What s the meaning of the underlined phrase“floating on air”?_ 4.Why did Brian want to join the Red Cross?_ 文档编码:CT3O4D9I9J9 HL10Z1Y7B3T1 ZV6I4R9M6V1文档编码:CT3O4D9I9J9 HL10Z1Y7B3T1
