Through this unit, we can learn how to express past events, so that students can have a better understanding of earthquake.Students have some knowledge about about earthquakes in Chinese, but they dont know how to describe in English. So, they have desire to learn.They have abilities of a certain level to read, discover and cooperate. So, how to improve them in well-orgnized ways in limited time and accomplish the moral goals are what the teacher should think about. Teaching objectives1.Knowledge objectives(1) Master the relevant knowledge about natural disasters.(2) Be familiar with the new words, phrases and sentence patterns in this lesson.2. Ability objectives(1) Students can practice and use English reading skills, such as skimming and careful reading, and collect and process information in reading.(2)Students can use similar time words to analyze the article structure.3. Emotional attitude objectives(1) Let students know the disaster brought by the earthquake, strengthen self-protection awareness, and learn how to save themselves and save people in the earthquake.(2) Stimulate students' strong interest in English learning through learning.(3) Help students develop the quality of unity and cooperation through group discussion of text learning.III.
