You can include information about his or her life, poems and influences.Possible answer:Emily Dickson: my favourite poetMy favourite poet is Emily Dickinson, who is considered one of the most important American poets of the 19th century. Although she had a difficult life, she managed to write almost 1,800 poems during her lifetime.Emily was born in 1830 in Amherst, Massachusetts. Growing up in a town famous for learning, she had a chance to receive a good education. Emily suffered from serious health problems, so she mostly stayed at home. While she led a quiet life, she wrote poems and shared many of them with her friends. However, few of her poems were published in her lifetime. Emily died in 1886, and it was only after her death that her family discovered all the poems she had written.Coloured by her life experiences, many of her poems are about illness and death, as well as the situation of women in 19th century society. One of the main reasons why I like Emily Dickson is her unique style. Her poems are usually short, and she used words and images in a creative way. In general, they differed a lot from traditional poetry. Emily was also one of the first women to write modern poetry. I still read her poems from time to time, and they are always a great source of strength and inspiration. I especially love her poem called “If I Can Stop One Heart from Breaking”: If I can stop one heart from breaking,/ I shall not live in vain;/If I can ease one life the aching, / Or cool one pain, / Or help one fainting robin / Unto his nest again, /1 shall not live in vain.To summarize, Emily Dickinson had a unique poetic voice and used her talent to do something entirely new. Despite all the difficulties, she managed to create literary works that are still appreciated today.教学反思
