A regional perceptual classifier is employed to assign a noise sensitivity index to each region. The watermark is inserted in the original image according to this index by using block DCT. The detection of the watermark is designed to achieve a desired false alarm probability. Digital watermarking has been proposed as a solution to the problem of copyright protection of multimedia data ina networked environment. It makes possible to tightly associate to a digital document a code allowing the identification of the data creator, owner, authorized consumer, and so on. In this paper a new watermarking algorithm for digital images is presented: the method, which operates in the frequency domain, embeds a pseudo-random sequence of real numbers in a selected set of DCT coefficients. After embedding, the watermark is adapted to the image by exploiting the masking characteristics of the human visual system, thus ensuring the watermark invisibility. By exploiting the statistical properties of the embedded sequence, the mark can be reliably extracted without resorting to the original uncorrupted image. The scheme employs visual masking to guarantee that the embedded watermark is invisible and to maximize the robustness of the hidden data. The watermark is constructed for arbitrary image blocks by filtering a pseudo-noise sequence (author id) with a filter that approximates the frequency masking characteristics of the visual system. The noise-like watermark is statistically invisible to deter unauthorized removal. Experimental results show that the watermark is robust to several distortions including white and colored noises, JPEG coding at different qualities, and cropping.中文翻译:透明鲁棒性图像水印算法摘要 我们提出了一个把版权信息隐藏在图像中的水印方案。此方案利用人眼的隐蔽特性,保证了水印的隐藏及隐藏数据最大限度的鲁棒性。通过一个接近人眼视觉系统频率的过滤器过滤一个伪噪声序列(作者ID)来为任意图像块构造水印。这种类噪声水印是统计不可见的,从而防止非授权者对其删除。实验表面,这种水印对于包括白色和彩色噪声、不同品质的JPEG编码、种植等几种扭曲都有很好的鲁棒性。3、英文原文:Combined DWT-DCT Digital Image WatermarkingAbstractThe proliferation of digitized media due to the rapid growth of networked multimedia systems has created an urgent need for copyright enforcement technologies that can protect copyright ownership of multimedia objects. Digital image watermarking is one such technology that has been developed to protect digital images from illegal manipulations. In particular, digital image watermarking algorithms which are based on the discrete wavelet transform have been widely recognized to be more prevalent than others. This is due to the wavelets' excellent spatial localization, frequency spread, and multi-resolution characteristics, which are similar to the theoretical models of the human visual system. In this paper, we describe an imperceptible and a robust combined DWT-DCT digital image watermarking algorithm. The algorithm watermarks a given digital image using a combination of the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and the Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT).
