The listening material is a conversation talking about Chinese Xiang cuisine. Students need to discuss some dishes and a menu. They will role-play taking a foreign guest to a restaurant. This section consists of five activities. This section is designed not only to add more related information about Chinese dishes to the theme of the unit, but also to draw students attention to how to introduce Chinese dishes to foreigners.教学目标(核心素养) At the end of this section, students will be able to:1. State some English names of Chinese dishes and what they contain and how they are made;2. Explain what types of restaurant they would like to take a foreign visitor to and why, and role-play taking a foreign guest to a restaurant;3. Ask the following questions:1) How do you know describe the food in the pictures?2) What is the English name for each food?3) What do you know about the food?4) What does it contain?5) How is it made?Invite some groups to share their knowledge Lynn with others. Then present some more detailed information on the screen.Explain the new words in this section through paraphrasing.Step Two Discussing in groupsGuide students to view the menu on page 30 and discuss the following questions:1) What kind of restaurant is it and what kinds of foods are served?2) Which dishes would you recommend to a foreign visitor?Why?Ask four students to share their ideas.Ask students to predict what may be talked about in the listening material.Step Three Listening and tickingPlay the recording and ask students to finish Activity 3 on page 31.Ask students to check their answers in pairs and invite two of them to share their answers. Ask other students to make corrections if any.Step Four Listening and answeringPlay the recording again and ask students to finish Activity 4 individually.Ask students to share their answers with partners and correct mistakes.Invite five students to share their answers with the class.
