Pre-reading: (1) Watch a video clip to appreciate Hamlet in Chinese version. (Teaching aims: It allows students to catch a glimpse of Beijing Opera and try to feel the charm behind that.)2. While-reading:(1) The teacher asks the students to read the passage quickly and choose the authors purpose in writing the passage. (Teaching aims: Help students get a brief understanding of the general idea and the writer s purpose.)(2) The teacher asks students to read the passage carefully and answer these questions: What is the timeline of the passage? What are the feelings and emotions of the retelling?(Teaching aims: Lead students to find some detailed information in the text.)(3) The teacher asks students to read the passage again and complete the chart in. (Teaching aims: Students can figure out the structure of the text.)(4) The teacher plays a video introducing Beijing Opera, and ask students to have a discussion about it.
