Status and functionThe topic of this unit is from Students Book III.It is about peoples activities that took place in the past. Such a topic is related to our daily life, so its easy to arouse studentslearning interests. In the past year, we have faced the danger of COVID-19. They wish to know what other people were doing at that time. Listening and speaking are the core part of language, and the usage of past progressive tense is the key point of learning this book. This period is sure to be a step to learn successfully.2. Teaching objectivesAt the end of the lesson , students can:1) talk about past events and tell a story that happened in the past2) the usage of past progressive tense.This period is mainly about listening and speaking of the unit. I just wish everyone can take part in speaking ,listening, reading and writing. 3.Emotional ObjectivesGet students know that even though we are having a difficult time learning and living right now, we are sure to overcome the problem. We can be positive to do everything.4. Analysis of studentsFor students in Grade 7 , they have mastered some knowledge both in vocabulary and the Simple Present Tense, itll be helpful for them to achieve the learning goals.Teaching key points and difficult points:1.Students can use and grasp the new words and expressions in this period.2.Students can communicate using the patterns: “What weredoing at the time of/when? ImitateLet students try to read according to the tone and stressed words by AI teacher app1)通过图片和声音引出本课时中需要重点掌握的单词,短语和句子,从而可以激发学生表达的欲望。2)通过观视频,倾听榜样学生的表达,将思维转化成语言的输出。3)让学生学会使用目标语言来描述图片内容,为后面的听力练习做铺垫。学习理解感知注意学生能够通过倾听老师的表达顺利地说出本节课需重点掌握的单词,短语和句子。而且学生能够描述过去发生的事学生能够在具体的听力语篇中分辨主要信息、推断人物感受,地点;学生能够按照老师的指导正确填写对话信息并转述。Step 4 listen, read and sayBefore-listening.Guess“Where was Ben?” “What was Ben doing?”While-listening.
