    基础英语一课程教学大纲一、课程简介【课程编号】:061322【开课对象】:四年制本科:英语专业【学分】:4【总学时】:64【先修课程】:无二、教学目标基础英语课是英语专业基础阶段教学的一门必修课,同时也是培养学生英语综合应用能力的一门基础课。本课程的任务在于传授系统的基础语言知识(包括语音、语法、词汇与篇章的结构、语言功能等),训练基本语言技能(听、说、读、写、译)。本课程的特点在于所使用的语言材料是系统的、精选的,技能的训练是综合的。本课程的目的在于培养学生初步运用英语进行交际的能力,培养学生细致观察语言的能力以及分析归纳、推理检验等逻辑思维能力,增强语感,同时指导学生的学习方法,为进入高年级学习打下扎实的基础。三、教学要求及内容提要第一章 Never Say Goodbye(一)教学要求1. He had learned from his grandfather the profound meaning of “never say goodbye” and became firm and strong-willed as a child. The author wants to tell us that we should never give in to sadness. It tells us how David, the writers best friend, suffered from AIDS, what attitude the writer took towards David, and how much concern he showed to David, i.e. how he helped David deal with AIDS. The writer clearly presents and fully supports his theme: the single sex education does not realize the aim of the education, while coeducation is the best way to educate young people. He defines coeducation as “the most important desirable form of education.” He presents that “coeducation has survived as the best way to educate young people. It is an integrated community where students are instructed without distinction of sex. They are given the opportunity to know each other and compete with each other. Girls can ask questions, protest and challenge teachers. Boys can be seen sitting quietly, listening to female speakers. The text tells us that Margie, a girl who is aged 11 in 2157, always hates school because her teacher is a mechanical one and she has to learn at regular hours and put her homework and test paper in the slot. It also tells us how she is envious of kids who studied together, experienced great fun, and human teachers hundreds of years ago. From the text we can get a general picture of future education: the television screen contains as many as a million books. Words just move the way they are supposed to on the screen. The first paragraph, the first part of the essay, raises the question which is directly related to the topic of the essay: the relationship between learning and the marks of an educated man, that between learning and education, and that between education as well as certain traits and capacities which have to be gained by conscious efforts. Paragraph 2-6 comprise the body of the text, which presents a brief account of the five key traits of an educated man: correctness and precision in the use of the mother tongue; refined and gentle manners; the power and habit of reflection; the power of growth; procession of efficiency. These five major traits are explained and /exemplified respectively.
