冶金工艺工程师岗位职责任职要求冶金工艺工程师岗位职责 Metallurgist 冶金工艺工程师 JOB PURPOSE The main purpose of the role is to design, develop and improve pyrometallurgical and evaluation processes. The work will involve monitoring and analysis of processes and data in conjunction with laboratory, pilot and plant scale development and commissioning trials for our metallurgical refining operations at Zhangjiagang refinery. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES § Promote high environmental, health and safety standards and behaviours for yourself and your co-workers. § Develop and improve pyrometallurgical, thermal and concentration processes in conjunction with production, customers, external technology suppliers, JMTC and other members of the technical team. § Monitor and analyse pyrometallurgical processes and data, supporting resolution of issues. § Utilize thermodynamic modelling methods to provide theoretical analysis of potential process changes and process variation investigations. § Undertake bench, pilot and plant scale experimental work § Provide process expertise to enable HAZOP studies to be carried out on new process plants and Process Hazard Reviews on existing operations. § Carry out appropriate risk assessments (Risk, COSHH, Manual Handling, etc) for the development work § Participate in root cause analysis of incidents that occur within Zhangjiagang site. § Assist the Capital Projects team by providing technical expertise including developing process flow diagrams, conducting trials on new equipment and collecting data for design. § Carry out commissioning work on new and existing plant. ORGANISATION STRUCTURE (including Reporting Lines) This position reports into the project or refining plant manager SCOPE The principle responsibilities are twofold. Firstly, to provide support in the concept, trial, design, installation and commissioning of improvement, asset replacement and new processes. The second is to provide technical expertise and support to the Zhangjiagang production departments including pyrometallurgical, hydrometallurgical and evaluation processes. The incumbent is expected to have excellent communication skills to work in a multi-disciplined team and will be required to analyse data proficiently, display findings effectively and complete coherent reports. In the course of performing their duties, the incumbent will need to interface with personnel in maintenance, engineering, EHS, projects, commercial, supply chain, purchasing and production departments. Outside vendors and contractors will be utilised and managed by the incumbent to complete projects as needed. The incumbent will need to apply fundamental knowledge in pyrometallurgy to conceive new projects and improve current processes. As the incumbent develops their expertise in refining and they will be called upon to use this knowledge across the business. The position will be required to investigate EHS incidents on plant in a structured manor, including root cause analysis and enacting improvement plans to prevent reoccurrence. This includes reporting upwards and delegating tasks to a variety of stakeholders. SPECIAL FACTORS TRAVEL Whilst the primary site for the role is in ZJG, the incumbent will be expected to work, on occasions, at other JM sites. They may also be expected to travel periodically overseas including to the refinery in the UK or USA. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment is mainly offices and pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical production areas. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25kg.
