Big Five”Lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards and African buffalo are known as Africas“Big Five”.Huntersgave the group this name in the 19th century. They thought those were the most difficult anddangerous animals to hunt on foot. But British photographer Graeme Green thinks its time to give the Big Five a new meaning.Hewants to use photography to show some of the worlds most beautiful animals.Thats why in April 2020,Green started a project the New Big Five.He asked people a question:what five animals would you most like to take a photo of or see in a picture? He wanted them towrite their answers down.More than 50,000 people took part in choosing the New Big Five. The result came out in May 2021.Elephants and lions are still on the list.Gorillas, tigers and polarbears joined the group. They took the place of rhinos, leopards and African buffalo. However, animals in the New Big Five are all in danger.Green hopes the New Big Five can helppeople care about wild animals around the world.Special Rule on EscalatorsIn Japan, many people get hurt as a result of walking on escalators every year.So Saitama,a placeto the north of Tokyo, made a special rule.It doesnt let people walk up and down escalators. From October 1,2021,all escalator riders in Saitama must stand still while the escalators aremoving. The new rule helps to stop people from falling and hurting themselves.People living in different parts of Japan use escalators differently. In some places like Osaka, people stand on the right side of the escalator and walk on the left. But in other places like Tokyo, the right side is used for walking and escalator riders stand on the left. This is not safe whenpeople want to walk on escalators in Japan. The new rule in Saitama tells escalator operators to put up signs near escalators. The signs tellpeople about the rule.Operators will give people warnings if they break the rule, but wontpunish them.Saitama is the first place in Japan to make such a rule. For the Country“We want to buy
