He has a great interest in Chinese antiques. Over the past years, he has collected over 100,000 antiques. These antiques date back to the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the Republic of China.Six Arts Museum opened in 2018. It houses more than 40,000 antiques. Most of them are things of daily use in Chinese families before the 1990s. The antiques include wooden beds, folding screens, and sedan chairs. They not only help revisit old times but also give a sense of beauty.Dudek has never seen or used such things in his own country. He is really into them. “I think they are just beautiful, and I should collect them,” said Dudek. Thanks to Dudek, these Chines eantiques have a new life in the museum. They Are TogetherCharles Nassau is an 88-year-old American. He had to spend months in the hospital. He was very sad.“Ive ridden motorcycles all my life,” said Charles. “I didnt want to give up. So as soon as I got out of the hospital, I started looking online to find a motorcycle I could ride.” Unluckily, he couldnt find one. However, Charles son thought his father could still ride. With a lot of time and hardwork, he found ways to get his father back on the road again. And the son didnt just stop there. He went on to help others like his father with his own business Chariot Mototrikes. It sells adaptive riding equipment and things like that. His father is always the first one to help try the equipment. Now Charles and his son like to ride every Sunday. They enjoy being together along the way.Tiangong ClassHow do astronauts live and work on a space station? You can get the answer from theTiangong Class, a series of lectures from Chinas space station. In theTiangong Class, Chinese astronauts will become the “teachers in space”. Monthsago, three Shenzhou-13 astronauts,Wang Yaping, Ye Guangfu and Zhai Zhigang, gave their first class. Thousands of young students took the class. With the help of the other two astronauts, Wang first gave the students a tour around. She showed students how to live and work on the space station. After the tour, the astronauts did some interesting experiments. In one experiment, Wang made a small water film and put a pink folded paper flower on it. Soon the flower blossomed. “I made the flower with my daughter while on earth and I always think of her when I see the flower,” said Wang. “Students, all of you are flowers of the motherland. I hope your dreams can blossom like flowers.”During the class, the students learned how different space is from the earth. Many students showed great interest in space and science. Wang Yihan, a fifth-grade student, said, “It was an eye-opening experience. The experiments really surprised me. They were wonderful! I want to be an astronaut too!”Clean the OceanAbout10 years ago, 16-year-old Boyan Slat was on vacation in Greece. He hoped to seethe beautiful ocean like those on TV programs. However, he was surprised to seethere were more plastic bags than fish in the sea. Boyan was very sad. “Whycant we clean it up?” the young Dutchman asked himself. Later, he started theorganization Ocean Cleanup.Tomany people, it was unfeasible to clean up the ocean. But Boyan didnt thinkso. He made up his mind to clean up the ocean. Ocean Cleanup made its firstplastic-catching machine in 2018, but it broke in the water. A newer model dida better job in 2019, but it would need hundreds of those to clean the worldsoceans. People began to question whether the group could do it.Boyandidnt give up. Last year, the team developed a new machine. They called it“Jenny”. Two ships pull “Jenny” through the water to collect floating garbage.Ocean Cleanup tested it in the ocean. It worked! It pulled out 9,000 kilos ofgarbage. Boyan and his team plan to collect 90% of floating plastic from theoceans by 2040.Althoughwe still have a long way to go, thanks to groups like Ocean Cleanup, we are onestep closer to seeing the oceans clean again!
