Enjoy music “The Red River Valley” before classT: What do you think of the song? Are you familiar with it?T: To which country this song originally belong? T: What do you know about Canada?Activity 2. Show a map with location of Canada and ask students to describe its location. Canada is located in the north of North American continent , surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean and the Arctic Ocean on other three sides. Follow up questions:1. What is the capital of Canada?2. Can you name some other famous cities of Canada?Step 2 Title predictionRead the title A Trip on “The True North”together and ask:1. What does “The True North” mean in the title? Is it the same as Canada?2. If you are going to describe a trip, or to write a travel journal, what will be included? who, where, when, why, how, what.Step 3 Fast readingActivity 1.
