Unit 5 EducationWriting Workshop ReviewWhat should we pay attention to when writing a picture description?a Analysis of the picture/personb Descriptionc Lessons from the pictured General introductiondacbStructureReviewWriting a picture descriptionudescribe what is shown in the picture firstly;uanalyse its meaning and give your comments;uuse the present tense when describing and commenting on the picture;unot only describe what it shows,but also tell what lessons are taught.How to write a good picture description?Appreciation When we first look at the picture,we can see a pawn(兵兵)sees a king in the mirror.It means a lot to us.In the picture,a mirror stands upright on the floor.A pawn in front of it seems to be looking into the mirror.In the mirror,he doesnt see his own reflection,but an enlarged king.Appreciate the sample descriptions of the pictures.This implies that the pawn obviously thinks himself is bigger and more important than he really is.As we know,the pawn is of the smallest size and least value in the game of chess,and there are 8 of them for each player.However,the king is the most important piece,and there is only one for each player.In my opinion the overall message we can take from the picture is that it is important to be confident,although we may face less favorable situations.Appreciation When I first look at the picture,I am astonished and deeply touched that a couples life story can be told in one picture.When I look more carefully at the picture,however,I see more than that.Appreciation The picture is divided into six parts,in each one there is a tree.From left to right,the tree grows older,and the couple below it as well.In the first one,a boy and a girl are playing with three balloons;in the second one,a teenage boy is holding a teenage girls hand;in the third one,a young man and a young woman are hugging each other;in the fourth one,an old man and an old woman are standing with the help of their walking sticks;in the fifth one,an old man sits on the ground,in front of whom is a gravestone.In the last one,there is no one in sight,only two gravestones.In all the parts,the couples eyes are focused on each other.AppreciationOn the one hand,I am deeply touched by the consistent love the couple show;on the other hand,due to the black and white colors,the gravestones and the tree without leaves,I feel depressed that life has a day to its end.This teaches me that I should love who I love when there is still time.Appreciation When I first look at this picture,its concise composition of picture makes me feel relaxed.However,when looking at it more closely,I see something interesting.In the picture,a man in a black suit is holding a pair of binoculars,looking in the distance.He stands in a boat which is not on water but on the floor.The floor is cracked due to lack of water.In the background,we can see mountains are stretching around,which tells that the dry land used to be the bottom of a lake.Appreciation This implies that because of lack of water,it seems meaningless to appreciate the landscape.The overall message I can take from the picture is that we should protect the environment and save water,so that appreciating the landscape doesnt become a joke.Appreciation When I first look at this picture,it doesnt seem to be a beautiful one.However,when looking at it more closely,I see stunning truth that happens in real life.In the foreground,a cameraman is operating on a video camera,on whose screen a man on the left is stabbing the other man on the right.In the background,we can see what is actually happening on the scene.the dagger on the screen turns out to be the feet of the man who is escaping from the other man on the right,who is holding a dagger that is not shot into the screen.Appreciation This implies that what you see from the media is not always true.The media may want the public to know what is not real.In this way,the right can be wrong and the wrong can be right.The overall message I can take from the picture is that I should not trust what the media say without thinking critically.When we are taking information,we should always be careful about whether it is true.We should be careful not to be fooled.Appreciation When I first look at the picture,it seems to be one with black,grey and white.But it clearly tells more than that.In the picture,the son is standing in front of his father,a square missing in his body.The father is holding a square,giving it to his son,while his own body is already incomplete with many squares missing.Appreciation This implies that the father is devoting his life to his dear son.The overall message I can take from the picture is that I should love my father,and I should be grateful to what my father has done for me.When my father becomes old,I swear I will take good care of him.AppreciationAssignmentWrite an essay to describe the following picture using the techniques you have learnt.Goodbye!
