Section VI Schedule of Requirements 88 LOT NO.2 SUPPLY OF VALVES,HYDRANTS,COUPLINGS AND ACCESSORIES 3.PARTICULAR REEQUIRMENTS FOR LOT NO.2 3.1 Item B.1 Gate Valve The following particular requirements 150mm 55 Nr.B.1.d As above;DN 200mm 25 Nr.B.1.e As above;DN 250mm 20 Nr.B.1.f As above;DN 300mm 20 Nr.Gate Valves shall be resilient-seat type.Operation shall be manual,Clockwise-to-Close,by T-key.A full circle axial bearing system shall make the operation easy with no need for excess force.The valve design shall provide full-bore clearance when the valve is fully open,with the shoulders of the gate sealing against the valve bonnet.The valve design shall allow the valve bonnet to be removed for inspection purpose,without having to remove the valve body from the pipe line.Stem sealing shall be by O-rings,which can be replaced under pressure with the gate fully raised.Gate Valves shall have PN16 pressure rating,with design according to BS EN 1074-1&2:2000 requirements and BS 5163-1:2004 requirements,and to WRAS requirements for potable water use,with bodies and bonnets made of Ductile Iron subject to BS EN 1563:2011 standard,with internal and external,fusion bonded,blue two-pack epoxy coating according to WIS 4-52-01 Class B(250 microns)requirements.Gate Valves shall have wedges made of Ductile Iron subject to BS EN 1563:2011 standard.Wedges shall be fully encapsulated in EPDM rubber which is suitable for potable water and resistant to chlorine.The rubber coating of the wedge shall be applied by a vulcanization process,with a layer thickness of minimum 4mm on seating areas and minimum 1.5mm on other surfaces.Gate Valves shall have stems made of Stainless Steel subject to BS EN 10088-1:2014 standard.The transport thread shall be rolled onto the stem in a trapezoidal profile according to DIN 103-1:1977 requirements.The upper part of the thread shall terminate in a way that when the fully open position is reached,but before the wedge touches the inner coating,the wedge stops abruptly and blocks further turning of the stem.Gate Valves shall have stem seals consisting of three systems:(a)innermost a lip seal in EPDM rubber shall act as main seal against the internal fluid pressure;(b)in the middle the radial bearing O-rings shall back up the inner main seal;and(c)outermost an NBR rubber wiper ring shall seal against dust and dirt from outside.Section VI Schedule of Requirements 89 Gate Valves shall have the following information cast onto the body surface:Manufacturer Flow direction arrow Cast material DN diameter class PN pressure class Gate Valves shall have flange joints which meet BS EN 1092-2:1997 requirements for PN16 pressure rating.The bolt holes shall be wax-filled.Gate Valves shall be provided complete,with 2 Nr.Flange Gaskets,and 2 Sets of Nuts,Bolts and Washers,which are provided separately under Items B.9 and B.10 respectively.3.2 Item B.2 Single Small Orifice Air Valve The following particular requirements are specified for the following items:Line Item No.Description of Goods Quantity Physical Unit B.2 Single Small Orifice Air Valve;with flange for pipe diam.DN 80mm 35 Nr.Single Small Orifice Air Valves are valves,which automatically release small quantities of air from water mains under normal working pressure,thus allowing this excess air out of the water main,while containing the water within the pipe during operation.The valves have float mechanisms,which sense the presence of air and cause the float mechanisms to open the valve orifices,which release the air from the water main.Single Small Orifice Air Valves shall have PN16 pressure rating,with design according to BS EN 1074-1&4:2000 requirements,and to WRAS requirements for potable water use,with bodies and bonnets made of Ductile Iron subject to BS EN 1563:2011 standard,with internal and external,fusion bonded,blue two-pack epoxy coating according to WIS 4-52-01 Class B(250 microns)requirements.Single Small Orifice Air Valves shall have flange joints which meet BS EN 1092-2:1997 requirements for PN16 pressure rating.The bolt holes shall be wax-filled.Each Single Small Orifice Air Valve shall be provided complete,with 2 Nr.Flange Gaskets,and 2 Sets of Nuts,Bolts and Washers,which are provided separately under Item B.9 and Item B.10 respectively.3.3 Item B.3 Double Orifice Air Valve The following particular requirements are specified for the following items:Line Item No.Description of Goods Quantity Physical Unit B.3 Double Orifice Air Valve;with flange for pipe diam.DN 80mm 65 Nr.Section VI Schedule of Requirements 90 Double Orifice Air Valves are valves,which have a large orifice for ventilation or exhaust of a water main,and which have another smaller orifice for automatic release of air under normal working pressure.Double Orifice Air Valves shall be capable of automatically exhausting air from water mains when being filled,the air being released at a sufficiently high rate to prevent the restriction of the filling rate.The valves shall also automatically release air accumulating in water mains during normal working conditions.The valves shall be designed to prevent premature closure prior to all air having been discharged from the water main.Double Orifice Air Valves shall also be capable of ventilating water mains automatically when being emptied,the air inflow rate being sufficiently high to prevent the development of a vacuum in the water mains.Orifices shall be positively sealed in the closed position,but the floats shall only be raised by the water and not by a mixture of air and water spray.The seating of floats shall be designed to prevent the floats from sticking after long periods in the closed position.Double Orifice Air Valves shall have PN16 pressure rating,with design according to BS EN 1074-1&4:2000 requirements,and to WRAS requirements for potable water use,with bodies and bonnets made of Ductile Iron subject to BS EN 1563:2011 standard,with internal and external,fusion bonded,blue two-pack epoxy coating according to WIS 4-52-01 Class B(250 microns)requirements.Double Orifice Air Valves shall have flange joints which meet BS EN 1092-2:1997 Goods Quantity Physical Unit B.4 Fire Hydrant;with flange for pipe diam.DN 80mm 100 Nr.Fire Hydrants shall be underground fire hydrants of BS 750:2012 Type 1 standard,screwed-down type with screwed 2-1/2”round thread outlet,according to BS EN 14339:2005 and BS EN 1074-1&6:2000&2008 requirements,and to WRAS requirements for potable water use.Fire Hydrants shall have PN16 pressure rating,with bodies and bonnets made of Ductile Iron subject to BS EN 1563:2011 standard,with corrosion resistance for disinfection products,with internal and external,fusion bonded,blue two-pack epoxy coating according to WIS 4-52-01 Class B(250 microns)requirements.Fire Hydrants shall be fully maintainable,with minimum flow requirements of 2000 litres per minutes for Kv=90 and 2470 litres per minutes for Kv=110.Section VI Schedule of Requirements 91 Fire Hydrants shall have flange joints which meet BS EN 1092-2:1997 requirements for PN16 pressure rating.The bolt holes shall be wax-filled.Fire Hydrants shall be provided complete,with 2 Nr.Flange Gaskets,and 2 Sets of Nuts,Bolts and Washers,which are provided separately under Items B.9 and B.10 respectively.3.5 Item B.5 Coupling The following minimum 30mm and maximum 35mm of tolerance on the pipe outer diameter,and shall accommodate up to 6 of angular deflection between pipes,and shall accommodate minimum 20mm and maximum 40mm of expansion or contraction per fitting.Couplings shall be simple-to-fit,with captive,non-rotating bolt heads requiring only a single spanner or torque wrench for installation,and shall be pre-assembled allowing quick and efficient installation,without the need for on-site dismantling.Couplings shall have centre-sleeves and end-rings made of Ductile Iron subject to BS EN 1563:2011 standard with PN16 pressure rating,with gaskets made of EPDM rubber according to BS EN 681-1:1996 requirements,and to WRAS requirements for potable water use.Couplings shall be corrosion resistant,with internal and external coating of either:Rilsan Nylon 11 according to WIS 4-52-01 Part 1 requirements;or Fusion bonded,blue two-pack epoxy coating according to WIS 4-52-01 Class B(250 microns)requirements.Each Coupling shall be provided complete with fitting accessories,including nuts,bolts and washers made of either:Stainless Steel subject to BS EN 3506-1:2009,Grade A4,Class 50 standard;or Section VI Schedule of Requirements 92 Mild Steel,subject to BS EN 898-1:2013 standard,and coated by Sheraplex duplex process according to WIS 4-52-03 requirements.3.6 Item B.6 Flange Adaptor The following particular plain-ended pipe of same or different material(including polyvinyl chloride(PVC),asbestos cement(AC),and Steel pipes)with different nominal diameter.Flange Adaptors shall have coupling-ends which accommodate up to minimum 30mm and maximum 35mm of tolerance on the outer diameter of the pipe to be jointed,and shall accommodate up to 3 of angular deflection between pipes,and shall accommodate minimum 20mm and maximum 40mm of expansion or contraction per fitting.Flange Adaptors shall be simple-to-fit,with captive,non-rotating bolt heads requiring only a single spanner or torque wrench for process according to WIS 4-52-03 requirements.Flange Adaptors shall have flange joints which meet BS EN 1092-2:1997 requirements for PN16 pressure rating.The bolt holes shall be wax-filled.Each Flange Adaptor shall be provided complete for jointing the flange-end,including 1 Nr.Flange Gasket and 1 Set of Nuts,Bolts and Washers,with 2 Nr.Washers for each Bolt for jointing the flange-end,all of which shall meet the requirements as specified above for gaskets,nuts,bolts and washers.Flange Nuts,Bolts and Washers shall meet the requirements for flanges of Ductile Iron pipes and fittings according to BS EN 1092-2:1997 requirements for PN16 pressure rating.3.7 Item B.7 Dismantling Joint The following particular requirements are specified for the following items:Line Item No.Description of Goods shall be compressed independently of the tie bars with the sealing capability secured as soon as the fasteners reach the required torque.Dismantling Joints shall be made of Ductile Iron subject to BS EN 1563:2011 standard with PN16 pressure rating,with gaskets made of EPDM rubber according to BS EN 681-1:1996 requirements,and to WRAS requirements for potable water use.Dismantling Joints shall be corrosion resistant,with internal and external coating of either:Rilsan Nylon 11 according to WIS 4-52-01 Part 1 requirements;or Fusion bonded,blue two-pack epoxy coating according to WIS 4-52-01
