As he walked along Park Avenue near the First National Bank,he heard the sound of someone trying to start a car. He tried again and again but couldnt get the car moving. Arthur turned and looked inside at the face of a young man who looked worried. Arthur stopped and asked,“It looks like youve got a problem,” Arthur said.“Im afraid so. Im in a big hurry and I cant start my car.”“Is there something I can do to help?” Arthur asked. The young man looked at the two suitcases in the back seat and then said,“Thanks. If youre sure it wouldnt be too much trouble, you could help me get these suitcases into a taxi.”“No trouble at all. Id be glad to help.”The young man got out and took one of the suitcases from the back seat. After placing it on the ground,he turned to get the other one. Just as Arthur picked up the first suitcase and started walking,he heard the long loud noise of an alarm. It was from the bank. There had been a robbery (抢劫)!Park Avenue had been quiet a moment before. Now the air was filled with the sound of the alarm and the shouts of people running from all directions. Cars stopped and the passengers joined the crowd in front of the bank. People asked each other,“What happened?” But everyone had a different answer.Arthur, still carrying the suitcase, turned to look at the bank and walked right into the young woman in front of him.She looked at the suitcase and then at him. Arthur was surprised. “Why is she looking at me like that?” He thought. “The suitcase! She thinks Im the bank thief!”Arthur looked around at the crowd of people. He became frightened, and without another thought,he started to run. As he was running,Arthur heard the young man shouting behind,“Stop, stop!” The taxi stopped in front of the Police Station and Arthur. 第二步:根据段落开头语,确定续写方向根据两段开头语中的“heard the young man shouting behind,Stop, stop!”和“The taxi stopped in front of the Police Station”可猜测,续写第一段应描写Arthur坐上出租车要求出租车司机开往警察局。 As he was running,Arthur heard the young man shouting behind,“Stop, stop!” Thinking of the way the young man had behaved,he realized the young man might be the bank robber. So Arthur ran faster and stopped a taxi. The moment he got into the taxi,he told the driver the man shouting behind was the bank thief and asked him to drive to the nearest police station. The driver followed what Arthur said and drove away. The taxi stopped in front of the Police Station and Arthur thanked the driver and directly went in.Just as Arthur was describing what had happened near the bank on the Park Avenue and reported the young man to the police,he heard a voice outside,“Help!Help!” To the surprise of Arthur,it was the young man. He had followed Arthur in another taxi. It turned out that the young man was innocent and inside the suitcases were just some clothes. Arthur felt embarrassed but the policemen thanked him anyway.Step 4. Steve was my cousin. By the age of 19. Steve had been a star baseball player at the University of Mi-nnesota. I wanted to be exactly like him. So when Steve asked me to go with him on a spring fishing t-rip in northern Minnesota, I was excited!we reached the Superior National Forest in northem Minnesota by early evening. On our way to the ca-mpsite, Steve pointed to a small house faraway in one of the mountains, saying that it was the ranger station (护林站)where the forester worked. Finally, after a long walk, we reached the campsite and set up the camp as the sun was setting Steve knew all the tricks of an experienced wilderness camper. After we gathered enough wood from the fore-st, he started the campfire using only stone and steel-no matches. For supper we feasted on freeze-dried beef, wild rice and pea soup. I ate greedily after all that work.Tired enough, we climbed into our sleeping bags early and talked about our plans for fishing the next day. We were still talking quietly when a sudden north wind picked up: the temperature dropped and it began to snow. Steve found a way to increase the temperature inside the tent. He dragged a log from the forest to the opposite side of the campfire. Then he wrapped(包裹)aluminum foil(铝箔) around the log. The heat from the fire reflected off the foil and into the tent. Soon images of lake fish were filli-ng my dreamsThe snow had stopped, but sometime later a powerful wind must have kicked up the flames of our dyi-ng fire. I was abruptly awakened by Steve. Our tent was on fire. Frightened, I ran out of the tent imm-ediately. The tent collapsed (倒塌) with Steve inside. without any thought of endangering myself, I reached into the burning tent and pulled him to the icy lake. Fortunately, we were not seriously hurt.续写:Later, as we stood by the burning tent to keep warm, we considered our difficult situation. Suddenly we heard a noise in the forest. 读后续写语料素材一、人物描写高分词汇a graceful figure优美的身段a shapely figure匀称的体形a skinny figure瘦削的身材a slim figure苗条的体形a welldeveloped figure发育良好的身体an imposing/a dashing/a handsome/a striking figure仪表堂堂have a good figure(人)形体很好an average build中等身材a wellbuilt man身材魁梧的人lack of responsibility缺乏责任感with the virtue of具有的美德a sense of responsibility责任感lighthearted and optimistic 无忧无虑且乐观的be both wise and diligent既聪明又勤勉be enthusiastic about.热衷于be honest and reliable诚实可靠be modest about.对谦虚be sensitive about.对敏感be considerate of.对考虑周到be pessimistic about. 1He had a wide mouth and humorous grey eyes. 2She arrived late for class, her hair wet and messy. 3She was fairskinned, having reddish hair and long fingers. 4His stronglybuilt body and suntanned skin make him look like a sportsman. 5He has sparking blue green eyes, thinning silver hair that spills onto his forehead, big ears,a triangular nose, and tufts of graying eyebrow. 6A dreaming look came over her face. 7He smiled, his eyes full of laughter. 8Color glowed in his face and his strange eyes widened with joyfulness. 9Aley became happy now and a gentle smile spread over her face. 10She rode the rest of the way home wearing a Mona Lisa smile of peace and grace. 1The young woman was tall, with grace and elegance. She had a great amount of dark hair that was beautifully shown in the sunlight, and a face more beautiful than any other, with dark, mysterious eyes. She was polite and wellmannered, with a tender look. 2His eyes lit up when she walked into the room.A smile lit up her face. The smile spread across her face, which lit up his gloomy afternoon. 3I watch him as he makes his way toward the stage.Medium height, stocky build, ashy blond hair that falls in waves over his forehead. The shock of the moment is registered on his face, and you can see his struggle to remain emotionless, but his blue eyes show the alarm Ive seen so often in prey.Yet he climbs steadily onto the stage and takes his place.
