    Objectives:To understand the theme and vocabulary related to making a differenceTo develop listening, reading, writing, and speaking skillsTo encourage critical thinking and discussion on social issuesMaterials:Textbook:外研版(2019)高中英语必修第三册Unit 2Handouts: Worksheets, Discussion questions, Vocabulary listsAudio and Video materials: TED Talks or other relevant speechesProcedure:Warm-up (15 mins)Introduce the topic of making a difference and ask students to brainstorm what it means to them.Divide students into pairs or small groups to discuss the following questions:What is the most important social issue facing your community today?How do you think you can make a difference in addressing this issue?Vocabulary (30 mins)Introduce and explain the key vocabulary from the unit, such as advocate, charity, sustainable, etc.Ask students to work in pairs or small groups to create sentences or short paragraphs using the vocabulary.Provide handouts with the vocabulary list and examples of sentences for students to refer to.Listening and Speaking (60 mins)Play a TED Talk or other relevant speech related to social issues, such as climate change, poverty, or education.Ask students to take notes while listening and prepare a short summary of the speaker's main points.Divide students into small groups to discuss the following questions:What is the main message of the speech?How does the speaker suggest making a difference?Do you agree or disagree with the speaker's perspective?
