The topic of this unit is about “making news”, everyone cant live without news, and we can get noes from TV, newspapers, the Internet or their smartphones. Get to know the news is easy, but making news is difficult. The contents of this period include how to interview people, the procedures of making news and the qualifications the reporters should have. Through this part, our students will know more about the qualifications the reporter should have and making news. Analysis of the students:The students are from grade 2, they use the Internet and smart phone and they read a lot of newspapers and magazines during their spare time, so they will interested in this topic. At first, they may will be confused about what a journalist is and which qualifications the reports should have. This lesson will help them understand the meaning of making news. Teaching Aims:1. Master the key words and expressions, (such as guilty, occupy, defend, accuse, so as to, concentrate on )2. Enable students familiar with the process of making news.3. Have the ability to write a report in English, pay attention to the essential points of making news. Difficult and Important Points:1. The study of key words and phrases2. Audio-visual teaching methodTeaching aids:Multi-media classroom and power point document.Teaching Procedures:Step I Lead-in Let the students answer the question on the screen, “How can we get to know the information that we want to know.” This question can attract the students attention and arouse their interest about this lesson. There will be various answers, which may vary from the Interest to newspapers, and then we can introduce the topic making news.Step II Warming upfirst, let the students guess how many kinds of job are there in a newspaper company. Write the answers on the blackboard; let the students talk about what kinds of responsibilities the staff may take. Divide them into eight groups to discuss the procedure of making news.In this step, students can master a lot of key words and phrases of the unit. Step III ReadingLet the students do the reading quickly, and answer the questions in the power point, the question are as follows,1.Why is Zhou Yang eager to go out on a story immediately?2.What should a journalist do while interviewing?3.Does he need to take a camera with him?
