The content of my lesson is warming-up in Unit _, senior English for China, _. I will begin this lesson plan from 5 aspects, namely teaching materials & aims, learning background, teaching methods, teaching procedures and blackboard design. I will focus on the teaching procedure, but first, let s come to Part 1. Part 1 Analysis of teaching material This unit is about _. By teaching this warming-up, we will enable students to grasp the knowledge about _, so that they can lay a solid foundation for and develop a deep interest in the whole unit. Specifically speaking, there are 3 kinds of aims here. 1). Knowledge aim. 2). Ability aim. 3). Emotion aim. Part 2 learning background Students have learnt about _ in warming up. However, they have not touched upon _ yet. Therefore, the important points lie in _, while the difficult points lie in _. To stress important points better and break through difficult points, I decide to adopt the following teaching methods. Part 3 Teaching methods I choose to adopt the task-based teaching method. By the way, in order to fully implement the above method, such teaching equipment as blackboard, multi-media, projector is essential. Part 4 teaching procedure My teaching procedure consists of 5 steps, warming-up, and activity, summary, homework. Step 1 lead-in 3-5 min I think the most useful lead-in to attract students attention is by interest stimulation and free discussion. At the beginning, after greetings, I will introduce the topic by asking them to discuss freely about the following questions. Q1: Q2: Then, I will ask some to present answers to the whole class. By doing this, I will greatly stimulate their interest and keep their attention. Step 2 warming-up 30-35 min I will use 3P method to teach warming-up. Presentation: Practice: Production: I will let them engage themselves in communicative task. Step 3 activity After warming-up, I will invite them into an activity. I think this will help in pushing students into creative thinking, and they will practice speaking in English. Step 5 homework For the homework, or assignment which I prefer, I think it should be kind of task that requires not only the grammar or vocabulary, but more importantly, it should require students ability to actively accomplish something with their own hands and mind, together with team mates. Therefore, I will ask them to . Part 5 Blackboard design I will divide and the blackboard into 2 sections, one for vocabularies and phrases, the other for grammar points, if any. It shall be noted that I will keep notes as clearly and orderly as possible, and I will highlight the most important points to impress students. That s all. I will focus on the teaching procedure, but first, let s come to Part 1. Part 1 Analysis of teaching material Reading is an important part in this unit. Reading mainly serves to cultivate students reading skills, enlarge knowledge area and horizon, and learn language points and culture. This is a passage about _. It cares about moral education too, namely that _. Part 2 Teaching aims There are 3 aims here: Enable students to catch the main idea of the passage by fast reading. Improve students ability to find out detailed information through careful reading. Make students master the vocabularies, phrases and grammar. Focus on practicing reading skills, including predicting, skimming and scanning. Practice, participate and cooperate in classroom activities.
