group members.Try to relate to your personal experience. If we can arrange things in such a way that our interests are aligned with our customers, then in the long term that will work out really well for customers and it will work out really well for Amazon. In 2019,there were 1,200,000 new sellers in 12 sites on Amazon, which was equivalent to 1 new seller every minute.ABChapter 3PART TWO/Passage Reading02Amazon Platform(B2B)Amazon launched the B2B e-commerce platform Amazon Business in 2012 for enterprise clients, selling machines, office supplies and other products. The introduction of this platform also means that the worlds major B2B e-commerce platforms will be faced with a new strong opponent. With already more than 2 million products,Amazon Business will replace AmazonS.Meanwhile,Amazon Business will also take over As commercial, industrial and scientific departments. It is reported that Amazon Business may take the existing business as the starting point, and will make a great leap forward in the field of B2B e-commerce market. For purchasing managers, the biggest drawback for online purchases on other B2B platforms is that they are unable to see the price without an account or login. However, users do not have to login to access to the product price on Amazon Business. When the providers sell products on Amazon Business, they can set a negotiable price, and the buyer also sees the offer from other sellers.“Buyers have the option to buy products at a lower price. The platform is designed to help businesses build consumer trust, frankly,if successful, buyers will in any case come to buy on their own.”said Prentis Wilson,Vice President of Amazon Business. If you want to purchase on Amazon Business, you must register as a company and wait for verification.Registration is free, and you can enjoy free delivery within two days if the order exceeds$49.The characteristic of Amazon Business is that the products are directly sold by A or sellers from third-party platforms.Amazon believes that as a business-only platform, the new site will be able to improve the relationship between Amazon and those sellers who only do business with companies, helping the platform to provide a wider range of products.Amazon will charge the third party seller a commission. For consumer goods,Amazon charges 8%commission if the total transaction amount is below 1,000 US dollars, and 6%if over 1,000 US dollars. For office supplies,Amazon charges 15%commission if the transaction amount is below 1,000 US dollars,10%if between 1,001 and 3,000 US dollars, and 6%if over 3,000 US dollars.Prentis Wilson,Vice President of Amazon Business, said the new site will enable the company to offer a wider range of products and services to sellers and buyers, including providing more useful web search and navigation, and personalized products and services based on buyers transactions history and business categories. He said Amazon Business has launched a service to promote B2B sales. For instance, the platform can be connected to the procurement system of companies,so that buyers can directly contact the seller.Wilson said that many business buyers like to be connected to Amazon Business, because only a simple connection will allow them to contact thousands of enterprises on the platform. He also pointed out that Amazon Business sellers and Amazon retail sellers are very alike. Both can use FBA,that is to ship the goods to more than 100 Amazon warehouses in US,and fulfilled by Amazon. The biggest advantage of FBA is that the shipping for Amazon Prime products is free, and completed within two days.So consumers and business buyers are more likely to buy those Amazon Prime products.Over the past year, more than 99 percent of Amazon Business vendors shipped through FBA have successfully sold their products on Amazon B2B platform.Wilson said that most of Amazon Businesss sales come from products in the“tail spend”category, which are the products that businesses or government agencies do not buy frequently,or those with negotiable price. He said that some buyers will specially search for such products on Amazon Business. He said:“Thousands of products and sellers are converging on the platform that allows buyers to search for products and save time. The buyers like the experience, and they are able to contact many sellers in the meantime.”In addition,he said that if the enterprise buyers purchase a variety of goods at the same time, goods would arrive at the same time.If buyers want to know the order status, they just need to call Amazon.New Words client/kla nt/n.1someone who pays for goods or services 客 户e.g.I)There is normally no refund should a client choose to cancel.客户若要取消服务,通常不予退款。II)He has been a valued
