was a fascinating musician and composer whose famecontinues to grow more than two centuries after his death.Hewas born in Salzburg,Austria,in 1756.Before the age of four,he hadshown great musical talent.His father then decided to let him start takingharpsichord lessons.The boys reputation as a musical talent grewfast.At five,he was composing music.Form that time on,Mozartwas performing n kindergarten,and Dr.Patty Hill,the principal ofthe same school,wrote a song together for the children,entitled“Good Morning to All”.When Mildred c o m b in e d hermusical talents with her sisters knowledge in the area ofkindergarten education,Good Morning to All“was sure to be asuccess.The sister published the song in a c o llec tio n entitled“Song Stories of the Kindergarten in 1893.Thirty-one yearslater,after Dr.Patty Hill became th e h e a d of the Department ofKindergarten Education at Columbia Universitys TeachersCollege,a gentleman by the name Robert Coleman published thesong,without the sisters5 permission.He added a second part,which is the familiar“Happy Birthday to You”.Mr.Colemansaddition of the second part made the song popular and,finally,the sisters“original first part disappeared.Happy Birthdayto You“had altogether replaced the sisters original song”GoodMorning to All”.In 1916 Patty took legal action against Mr.Coleman.In court,she opening you walk onto stage carrying a rose.You hold therose to your nose with just one f inger and thumb,smell it deeplyand then say the line on praise of the rose:Ah,the sweet smellof my love.The actor was excited.All day long before the playhe practiced his line over and over again.Finally,the time came.The curtain went up,the actor walked onto the stage,looked atthe audience,and with great funny and sad situations touching on love and apast rape.This movie shows some of the wonderful customs of India,andthe importance of family and love.Its great!Among dramas,I 1 ike“Adaptation”.It is an excellent movie!But for me the first part of the movie was too fast to fol low.I hope to see it again on D V D with captions.“The Pianist”is set in the Second World War.Its about a youngPolish-Jewish pianist,who lives in Warsaw with his family.TheNazis sent his family to die in the concentration camps.He wassafe,but would have died without unusually good luck and thekindness of a few non-Jews.This is a powerful movie withthought-provoking themes.“Rabbit-Proof Fence“is set in the 1930s in Australia,and itsbased on real events.It is about three native girls who areseparated from their families by the racist p
