教育资源 教育资源 Unit8 When is your birthday?SectionA2a-2e The teaching case on“3-4-4”overall teaching method of Luzhou No.7 Jiade International School By Yu Chuan Teaching Material Analysis 1.Analysis of Content This unit is about“dates”.In this unit,students sho uld be able to talk about the date with the target language.“Unit 8 When is your birthday?2a-2e”is a listening and speaking lesson.In the class,students are supposed to practice the target language of this unit,and kown the rules that we use to change cardinal numbers into ordinal numbers.Students should also learn some listening strategies.2.Teaching Goals The goals of this class include language,ability and emotional objectives.Language objectives Words:happy,old,party,Phrases:Happy birthday,How old,birthday party,See you!Structures:-When is your birthday?-My birthday is on September 10th.-When is your fathers birthday?-Its on June 3rd.Ability objectives 1).Ss can talk about their family members birthdays with the target language.2).Ss can talk about ages.Emotional objectives By talking about birthday,Ss may know more about their friends or family.And they will love them better.3.Teaching Important and Difficult Points Teaching important points:1).To use ordinal numbers to talk about dates.教育资源 教育资源 2).Get the points with numbers,signals and so on when listening.Teaching difficult points:The rules of ordinal numbers.Students Analyzing Ss in Grade 7 always like to join,to compete and to question in games and activities.So,we should pay more attention to the enlightenment to Ss and the cooperation between teacher and Ss by games and activities.But,because they are not fimiliar with ordinal numbers,they may feel difficult.So,Oral practice is the most important here.Teaching and learning Methods 1.Pairwork 2.Task-based teaching methods 3.Roleplaying 4.Brainstorming 5.Situation teaching methods.Teaching Aids Multimedia,blackboard,test paper Teaching Procedures This is a listening and speaking lesson.According to the particularity of the class and students,I divide the lesson into 4 parts.They are presentation,practice,listening and produce(speaking).Step.Warming up(3)Activity1.Month Song.(1)(Method:Imitation.)Activity2.Whos brother?(2)12 kids are given with their birthday out of order.Ss are told to put them in the order from younger to older.(Method:Task-based teaching methods,brainstorming.)The activities will help Ss with the revision of 12 months,and help them get more familiar with the 12 difficult words.教育资源 教育资源 Step.Presentation-2a(8)(Method:Task-based teaching methods,summarizing.)The activitiy will make them know the ordinate numbers.We should pay more attention to the rules and the pronunciations of some words,like:first,second,third,fifth,eighth and so on.Step.Practice(6)Lead Ss to do following the drills.Drill 1:Beehive The first students says the first cardinal number,then the next says the ordinal number and the second cardinal number.The team that finish from 1 to 31 is the winner.Drill 2:Whos faster?Write down“ordinal number-cardinal number”like this:“one-first”(from 1 to 30)on a piece of paper.As students pass the paper,numbers are growing.(Method:Cooperation,Task-based teaching methods)The 2 activities are used to make Ss more fimiliar with ordinal numbers and cardinal numbers.Step.2b(3)Listening(2b)(Method:listening,key points catching).In 2b,we can only make Ss listen to the numbers.We should let them know what is the key of a task.Step.2c(5)1.Look at the picture,and try to make a conversation.2.Discuss and find out the key points of listening.3.Do it.4.According to the table,make conversations with partners.教育资源 教育资源 (Method:Situation teaching methods,Brainstorming,pairwork and listening).Step.2d Pairwork(4)Ss sre told to make their own conversations in a controlled manner.It s designed to use target language and the ordinal numbers.(Method:Task-based teaching methods,pairwork)Step.2e(10)2e is to give Ss the opportunity to use the target language in a controlled manner.First,3 are given to know more about the conversation.Then,a game to help them practice the conversation in different ways.This can make them more interested in role-playing.(Method:Task-based teaching methods,pairwork)Step.Homework(1)(The exercise in homework should be precise and concise.It is to make Ss use target language more.).Blackboard design(Blackboard design should be precise,concise and beautiful.Meanwhile,the important points in this class must be included.Last but not least,the evaluation of Ss is very important.)
