landscape, one that incorporates innovation, sustainability, recreation and development within an artful design framework.By envisioning the landscape from a broader perspective, our approach transcends the ordinary notions of park to become a new Lifescape Ecology. Our ability to draw on the knowledge and expertise of other disciplines, working in close collaboration with urban designers and environment planners, enables us to formulate clearer development and sustainable strategies for the park. Our ultimate objective is to enhance the experiential nature of the park, reveal the intrinsic beauty of the site and utilize ecological processes, fully integrating the landscape with the proposed development. This conceptual interface between the development, nature and the park is critical in dening our approach to creating a lasting Vision. Our design process of exploration allows us to see the possibilities. This willingness to discover generates ideas, concepts, systems, and programs that drive its creation. The categorization of park no longer apply,it is in integration of process and site that formulates the uniqueness of this PARK.Introduction The Leisure ParkPARK+Country Ecological Longgan central compre-hensive group of Shenzhen approximately kilometers from Shenzhens CBD.It is ideally located with express way con-nects to Guangzhou and Dongguan. The site is approximately 60 square hectares, about 34ha for openspace and 27 ha for mix used development. It is set within a verdant undulating southern china landscape. The Yabao auxillary reservoir sits in the center of the site with an over ow ood channel at the east edge connecting to the Minzhi reservoir. The water area is approximately 7 hectares. The elevation of the site changes dramatically, with the water level at 5 elevation to the top of the central hill at 40 elevation. The adjacent development site is at approximately 5-1 elevation at the reservoir levee the el-evation is approximately 10 to 25 elevation. An expressway overpass runs east-west through the site on the southern edge over the reservoir.Existing Road Proposed Highway Existing Highway Park Entry Community primary Road Entry Existing Steep premier public space that many people may not realize it is entirely man-made.A green oasis of 136 acres of woodlands,250 acres of lawn, and 150 acres of water in 7 waterbodies within the great ecological standards and active community living in the shadow of towering company headquarters.Theme of water as a dening element in the open space.A combination of green and non-gree roofs collects 21 inches of annual rainfall in underground tanks to feed the water sys-tem.This rainwater ows down through the sites buildings and is used for toilet ushing, irrigation and re system.Exctess water ows into pools and canals of the outdoor waterscape.Planted purication biotopes are integrated as part of the landscape and serve to lter and circulate the water that runs along streets and walkways.Tai Po Waterfront Park Tai Po Kau Nature Reserve Tai Po Town Center Tai Po Industrial Estate Tai Po Kau Nature Reserve,Hong Kong Hong Kongs largest secondary forest, and holds good stands of mature plantation and native trees abounding with bird life and butteries.700 metre-long,sign-posted nature trails of different lengths leading through the woodland and introduces different aspects of woodland ecology.A splendid example of reforestation and the rst nature re-serve in Hong Kong which covers an area of 460 hectares, and is heavily wooded, with more than 100 different species of trees. The territorys best bird watching site, attracting migrants of a high diversity of bird species and supporting a growing vari-ety of breeding birds.Case StudyVision Seeding Sustainability-Creating Lifescape EcologiesThe park design considers the dialog between economic growth, natural resources, environment, ecologies and the human desire for nature and natural experiences. The design reects a clear response to the growing necessity of integrat-ing human activities with ecological resources in a respon-sible,sustainable and meaningful way.By understanding and enhancing the ecologies of the site, vegetation, biodiversity, water resources and recreation and leisure activities are inte-grated transforming the landscape into a balanced lifescape park. Objectives The Leisure Park Park:Transforming the urban landscape park through the con-uence between the park, development, water and the moun-tain landscape.By applying a exible, adaptive and diverse approach both human and natural ecologies transform the site into a park.To utilize and enhance the existing site landscapeTo utilize the reservoir as site amenity and park generatorTo promote leisure and design offers visitors opportunities to move through the landscape utilizing the dramatic changes in eleva-tion and connecting key nodes. The park circuit creates mo-ments and allows opportunities to Adaptation Biodiversity Emergent Ecologies The landscape design of the Galaxy Yabao includes a number of measures to enhance biodiversity. This will include the restoration of two high value ecological habitats, forests and wetlands.Forest Habitats-Existing areas of tree planting within the site boundary are dominated by dense stands of young Acacia magnium,a non-native species with limited ecological value. The landscape design would involve thinning of existing exotic trees and planting of native species such as Aquilaria sinensis and Sterculia lanceolata that have fruits and owers known to attract local wildlife species including forest birds, insects and mammals.Wetland Habitats-the edge treatment of the existing reservoir and new water features would incorporate shallow areas with extensive planting of oating, emergent and riparian wetland vegetation.Wetland habitats are extremely biologically productive,at-tracting a diversity of wildlife such as dragon development focusing on maximizing visual impact, high pro le building development and return on investment. The rst phase will focus on the prominent site location in the north-west corner of the site.Option 2:Focuses on creating the initial visual impact on the site allocating resources to the sales of ce location and the levee park interface. This also is to be constructed in conjunc-tion with the initial high pro le building development.Maximize initial visual impactDevelop interface between natural and designed parkCreate active park areasCreate key park nodes through natural park
