必修一Unit 4 Earthquakes教学设计Teacher: Cai Qihong Time: 45 mins Student: Senior 1教材分析:本单元以地震为话题,涉及唐山大地震、旧金山地震等事件,本课原设计为阅读 课,既The Night The Earth Didn't Sleep这一课的教学设计,但在制作课件过程中, 发现可导入很多课外内容,如:地球上的灾难,本世纪的大地震,地震的前兆等等,而这些 内容与本课息息相关,密不可分。如果加进去,容量过大,有舍本逐末之嫌,如果舍去,则 少了许多必要的铺垫和导入,对于一篇记叙文来讲,过多挖掘课文内容已显多余。于是本课 干脆分成两节课来处理,这一节定为课外知识拓展,以''地震为母板设计教学内容。学情分析:本次课针对普通班高一学生,高一学生要求达到英语课程标准六级目标,在听说 能力上能能听懂口常的要求和指令,能用英语进行简单的语言实践活动。大部分学生对地震 相关知识有基本了解。一、教学目标:1 .认知目标:1) Know basic knowledge about earthquakes.(了解地箧的基本知识)Know how to protect oneself and help others in earthquakes. (了解如何自救 与他救)2 .语言目标:1) Use new words and phrases to describe disasters.在具体的语境中掌握和运用本 单元出现的新词汇和短语描述自然灾害。2) Predict meanings of new words through pictures and sentences.通过图片及句 子对推断新词汇和短语的意义。3) Use simple communication skills when doing discussions.通过听说活动锻炼听 说及课堂互动的能力。3 .情感态度目标:Get the students to be aware of the terrible disasters zmeanwhile get them to face it ztreat it in a proper way, and never get discouraged.(使学生对灾难有正确 的认识,鼓励用积极的态度来对待它。)二、教学流程设计:Step 1: Natural disasterLead in by showing Ss some common disasters through pictures.Step 2: Famous earthquakesShow Ss some famous earthquakes in the world.Step 3: Tangshan earthquakeWatch a video clip about Tangshan earthquake to help Ss get a better understanding about the damage of an earthquake.1. Show pictures and lead Ss to get the meaning of new words and phrases.2. Damages caused by the earthquake.Step 4: Signs before earthquakesDemonstrate pictures about signs before earthquakes and guide Ss to describe it.1) Help Ss master the new words in the form of filling blanks. l)The water in the wells and. And some deep could be seen inthe well walls. A gas came out the cracks.2) Mice ran out of the fields places to hide. Fish out ofbows and ponds.3) The chickens and even pigs were nervous eat. The dogwas loudly again and again.4) People could see lights in the sky.Step 5: How to escape from the earthquakeTips about the earthquake's coming: Don't be nervous and keep calm. Don't try to run out of the classroom. Protect your head by putting your bag on your head. Squat or sit down under your desk. Leave the classroom after the earthquake.Step 6: Imaginary workImagine your home begins to shake and you must leave it right away. You have time to take only one thing. What will you take? Why?
