It was a rainy November morning. Overcome with anger, I knew if I didn't leave the house soon I would lose my temper with my husband, Joe. As rain came down in sheets, Joe offered to take me to work. I struggled into my jacket, seized my bag and teaching plans and ignored him.He insisted and reached for his boots. I looked at the piles of newspapers and the dirty dishes still on the table. "Don't you have enough to do? I can take care of myself." I stormed out, not even kissing him good-bye. Joe shouted after me not to take the shortcut(捷径)Joe and I had been eagerly looking forward to our retirement when a heart attack that past spring forced him to leave his job earlier than we had planned. As the medical bills mounted we realized I would have to continue working full-time while Joe stayed home and took over the housework. The new arrangement was a disaster. Exhausted after a day of full work, all I wanted was a hot homecooked meal and a good night's sleep. However, what greeted me at the table was a microwave package. Sometimes he would serve oatmeal(燕麦) for several nights in a row. One night when I dragged myself to bed, I was terrified to discover Joe had turned our white sheets blue. He told me he had found out how to save on water, soap and electricity. He patted his blue trousers and announced proudly washing everything together was just the secret.Ten minutes later, ignoring Joe's warning I turned off the main route(道路). I thought it hadn't rained enough to flood the road, but as I rounded the corner, water rushed across my path. After a few feet, the car got stuck. I opened the door and water poured in. I hurriedly closed the door. I couldn't risk walking in this. Almost 20 minutes passed. The car began to shake. I got frightened to death when I heard three long honks(喇叭声). Paragraph 1: Looking over my shoulder, I stared into the flashing lights of a truck. Paragraph 2: I screamed that I couldn't make it. 2. 时空变化: 地点是在转弯处的一条被水淹没的小路上(.rounded the corner, water rushed across my path)。 (Looking over my shoulder, I stared into the flashing lights of a truck. )。 (It was a rainy November morning.Joe offered to take me to work. )3. Paragraph 1: Looking over my shoulder, I stared into the flashing lights of a truck.1. Mum had a hard time raising us on her own in our small community of New Westminster, BC. My dad had drowned in Pitt Lake, five years ago.Looking back, I realize what Mum went through sending us kids to school. Every morning she would tuck a new piece of cardboard in our shoes, because our soles(鞋底)were worn out. When we got home, Mum would have “French toast” ready for us. Constant moving was typical for my family in those times. Rent was 25 dollars a month, but Mum couldnt pay it, and we knew we would be evicted right after Christmas on the first of January. Christmas was approaching, and we were entitled to a twenty-five-dollar Christmas fund from social services. The inspector came to our house, and searched it from top to bottom to be sure we didnt have any food hidden away. When he didnt find any, he issued the cheque to Mum. Mum said that instead of buying food, she would use the 25 dollars to pay back rent, assuring us all of a roof over our heads for a little while longer. She told us then there would be nothing for Christmas. Unknown to Mum, I had been selling Christmas tree, shoveling snow, and doing odd jobs to earn enough money to buy a new pair of boots. Boots that werent patched, boots with no cardboard in the soles. I knew exactly which boots I wanted. They were ten-inch Top Genuine Pierre Paris and they had a price of 23 dollars.Well, the big day came on the afternoon of Christmas Eve. I was excited, as I hurried up the road to the shoe store, but on the way I noticed a house with Christmas lights and decorations. It was then I realized at our house, we had no lights, no decorations, nor any money for Christmas goodies. I knew that we would have no turkey or ham for Christmas, and I felt sad. Paragraph 1:As I continued walking, I began to reconsider my plan _Paragraph 2:With great excitement and tears in my eyes, I knocked on the door._参考范文Paragraph 1:As I continued walking I began to reconsider my plan. I was feeling a strange sense of guilt. Here I was going to buy a new pair of boots while my mother was home in tears. She would be trying to explain to us why there were no presents.Across the street from the bus stop was a big grocery store. I realized that 25 dollars I had worked so hard for went a long way towards lights, decorations and a turkey. After finishing shopping, I went home.Paragraph 2:With great excitement and tears in my eyes, I knocked on the door. I could hardly wait to see my mothers face! When Mum opened the door, some of the groceries fell inside onto the floor, and she just stood there, dumb founded. Holding back the tears, I said, “Merry Christmas!” That day I got enough hug sand kisses from Mum to last two lifetimes.
