    九年级英语中考专项提升之任务型阅读(含答案) 牛津译林版.doc

9年级中考专项练习之任务型阅读 1With air pollution making much difference to many of Chinese cities, parents are calling for the installation(安装) of air cleaners in classrooms. There has been much debate over whether air cleaners should be used in Chinas schools. Some parents have donated cleaners to their childrens classrooms, while others raise money together to make the purchase(购买). “Our school bought air cleaners last year. We did a little fund raising, with each parent throwing in several hundred for that,” said one parent. However, the idea of installing air cleaners for all the classes has been refused by some schools. Liu Liangcheng, vice-principal of Beijings Taipinglu Primary School, says installing air cleaners bought by parents may lead to problems. “We have refused air cleaners bought by parents before, as there are clear and strict rules against educational fees. We cant just break the rules here. And without standard guidance (指示) from local authorities(权威部门), it is hard to decide on the brand of the cleaner, installation and even safety of the device(设备).”Moreover, experts say air cleaners can cause other health problems. Deng Gaofeng who works for the China Academy of Building Research says. “ In the classroom, if we keep windows and doors closed, the concentrations (浓度) of CO2 will double from 1,000 PPM to some 2,000 PPM. According to national safety standards, the highest level should not be more than 1,500.” In addition, experts say air cleaners on the market are mostly designed for homes or offices. Evaluation(评估) is needed to know whether they are suitable in classrooms. It seems whether air cleaners should enter Chinas schools is an ongoing question. It still requires a more detailed plan.Topic : Should air cleaners be installed for students in school?Persons1ParentsThey support the installation of the air cleaners by 2 money to make the purchase.Schools Installing air cleaners bought by parents breaks the rules of educational fees. Some parents send their children to the best schools or even foreign countries, for example, England, the US or Australia although it costs much. Many also want their children to take after-school activities. Their children either learn a musical instrument or ballet, or other classes that will give them a head start in life. The Chinese believe that the more expensive an education is, the better it is, so parents often spend a big amount of money on education. Even poor couples buy a computer for their son or daughter. However, what most parents fail to see is that the best education they can give their children is usually very cheap. Parents can see that their children's skills vary; they will usually be skilled in some areas while poor in others. What most parents fail to realize though, is that today's children lack confidence.      The problem is that parents only care about their children on how to achieve high marks in exams. They are not teaching children the most important skills that can be helpful to their growth. These skills can also build their confidence.  Parents can help achieve this by teaching their children practical skills like cooking, cleaning and other housework. Teaching a child to cook will improve many of the skills that he will need later in life. Cooking requires patience and time. It is an enjoyable but difficult experience. A good cook always tries to improve his cooking, so he will learn to work hard and gradually finish his job successfully. The result, a well cooked dinner, will give a child a lot of satisfaction and confidence.      An old machine such as a broken radio or TV set that you give your child as a toy may make him curious. If he spends hours looking at it, and trying to repair it, your child might become an engineer when he grows up. Its better to do such activities than teach a child to read a book. These activities can teach them to think and to use their minds.TitleHow Chinese parents should 1 their childrenCommon practiceBeing 2 with money when it comes to education.Sending them to the best schools at home or even 3 .Making children take after-school activities in order to 4 them a head start in life.Spending more money than they can 5 on education.来源:学。科。网Z。X。X。K 6 results来源:学|科|网Children are not confident.Suggested ideasTeaching their children practical skills, which are of the greatest importance. 7 .Cleaning.Other housework. 8 a broken radio or TV.Good results 9 the children curious and creative.Teaching the children to think and use their 10 .1 educate2. generous3. abroad 4give5. afford6.Bad7Cooking 8.
