Get the main idea by scanning;2. Speak out the meaning of several important new words, such as represent, goal, basis, equipment, content, factor, death,etc；3. Identify the writing style and find out the author's main arguments, as well as writing an essay"The benefits of doing sports".4. Understand the last sentence of the passage.教学重难点：1. Realize football is much more than just a sport.教学思路：step 1.热身准备，播放世界杯音乐，吸引学生的注意力，进入上课状态，并为 后面介绍足球运动做铺垫，并点明本节读写课的学习目标；step 2导入(starting out)新语言项目，播放涉及到各项运动的小视频以及运动 图片，激活学生运动类词汇，同桌讨论各自喜欢的运动以及原因，并经讨论达 成共识：做运动有很多益处。step 3.读前活动看图片，猜与足球赛相关的手势和标志。step 4.读中活动(一)，学生通过略读活动，在文章整体语境的刺激下激活已 有词汇，领会新词含义，领略文章大意，理清文章结构和行文思路。step 5.读中活动(二)，学生通过听力和跟读，进行文章细读，发现文中细节 性内容step 6.深入思考，分组讨论文章最后一句话的深层次含义，学生对讨论结果上 台报告，老师引导做主题升华。step 7.读后活动，根据本单元运动这一主题，给出写作题目：The benefits of doing sports,引导学生自己构思并画出相应的思维导图，并进行写作练习，学生 展示同桌互评互改。step 8.小结，让学生总结所学内容。step 9.作业，课下对个人写作内容进行润色。教学过程：step 1.
