2、alizethepossibilitythatPCtechnologyprovides.ItsthroughapplicationsofeveryvarietythatbusinesseswillbeusingthepersonalcomputerasthetooloftheInformationAge. Itsratheramazinghowfastthisinnovation2ismoving.Eventokeepthelikeofmyselfwhoaredeeplyinvolvedintheindustrytogoandseetheimprovementandeveryelementth

3、ataretakingplaceonayearlybasisisquitefantastic.Ofcourseoneofthedrivingfactorsofthisbusinessistheexponentialincreaseinprocessorperformance.Thereisnodoubtthatthemagicofchipcapabilityhasdeliveredthroughtheadvanceinmicroprocessorallowsustothinkofapplicationwhichneverwouldhavebeenpossiblebefore. ThePCind

4、ustryisoneofthefewindustriesthatcandeliverlowerpriceequipmentatthesametimeasimprovingthecapabilities.ThestoragesystemsarenowdeliveringGigabyteofstorageasthestandardcapability.Over80millionofPCsarebeingsoldayear.Andtheservermarket,thehigherperformancemachinesthatthesePCsnetworkedwith,arethefastestgro

5、wingpartofthisbusiness.Theperformanceofthoseserversisincreasingnotonlybecausetheindividualprocessorsarefaster,butalsobecauseweareusingmultiple-processormachines,socalledSMPdesignsandclusteringnodestogether. Greatchips,systemsdevelopers,partnerswhoaresponsoring3thisevent,makingthisallpossible.Thereis

6、anincredibleopportunityfordevelopers.Theapplicationsthatarewrittentodaywillselltoanevenlargerbaseofmachinesoutinthemarket.Thereisalotthatweredoingtoincreasetheworkofgooddevelopers-makesuretheyunderstandwherethePCisgoingandhowtoolscanhelpthemnow,moreandmoremarketingtypeofactivitiesmakingsuretheygotin

7、withthecustomers.Thisissomethingthatwearegoingtoincreaseyearafteryear. 9、一年基础上发生的如此巨大的进步预测一年后所发生的变化也是异想天开。当然，处理器性能的巨大提高是这一商务领域的一个推动因素。毫无疑问，芯片通过微处理器的进步所提供的强大功能允许我们考虑过去根本没有可能的应用程序。 PC行业是能够提供价格更低的设备并同时改进功能性的少数几个行业之一。存储系统提供lGB存储的标准功能。全球每年售出8000多万台PC。在服务器市场中，令这些PC联网的性能更高的机器是发展最快的部分。这些服务器的性能不断提高，不仅是因为单一处理器速度更快，还因为我们使用多处理器机器，也就是被称为SMP设计并实现节点的集群化。 优异的芯片、系统开发商以及资助这一活动的合作伙伴将使所有这些成
