1、联合国演讲稿联合国演讲稿(中英文 比照)Your excellence UN Secretary-General,President of the General Assembly,Executive Director of UN Women,And distinguished guests 敬重的秘书长阁下,大会主席阁下,妇女署执行主任阁下,以及尊贵的来宾们Today we are launching a campaign called HeForShe 今日我们将启动一项 HeForShe 的倡议活动I am reaching out to you because we need your
2、 help,we want to end gender inequality 此番演讲是为了获得您的支持,能让我们一道行动,终结性别不同等And to do this,we need everyone involved 实现这个目标须要每个人的参加This is the first campaign of its kind at the UN 这次我们开创了联合国发起的同类活动的先河 We want to try to galvanize as many men and boys as possible to be advocates for change,and we don’t
3、 just want to talk about it,We want to try and make sure that it’s tangible 我们希望能接力号召尽可能多的男人和男孩们,加入到寻求变更的提倡者行列,我们也不想仅仅开出空头支票,我们希望全力以赴,确保达成其实目标I was appointed as Goodwill Ambassador for UN Women six months ago,and the more I’ve spoken about feminism,the more I have realized that fighting

8、earch has shown me that feminism has become an unpopular word,women are choosing not to identify as feminists. 但我近期的调查表明,女权主义已经变为不受欢迎的词汇,女人们不情愿被认为是女权主义者Apparently I am among the ranks of women whose expressions are seen as too strong too aggressive,isolating and anti-men,unattractive,even 很明显我被列为那类女

10、lved on my behalf in the policies and the decisions that affect my life,I think it is right that socially,I am afforded the same respect as men 我来自英国,我认为我应当获得与我男性同行同等的资金待遇,我认为我应当拥有自主支配自己身体的权利,我认为女性应当代表我参加到能影响我生活的政策制定中,我认为在社会上我也能赢得与男性同样的敬重But sadly I can say that there is no one country in the world
11、where all women can expect to receive these rights.No country in the world can yet say that they have achieved gender equality,these rights I consider to be human rights 缺憾的是,我可以说世界上任何一个国家的女性群体都未能完全拥有这些权利,至今无一国家能断言,他们已经实现了性别同等,这些权利我认为就是人权But I am one of the lucky ones,my life is a sheer privilege, b
12、ecause my parents didn’t love me less because I was born a daughter,My school did not limit me because I was a girl,my mentor didn’t assume that I would go less far because I might give birth to a child one day 但我无疑是幸运的,我始终享受着特别待遇,因为我的父母并没有因为我身为女儿就削减对我的关爱,我就读的学校也没有因为我是女孩就加以限制,我的导师也没有因为我日
13、后将为人母而对我不予厚望These influencers were the gender equality ambassadors that made me who I am today,they may not know it,but they are the inadvertent feminists,we need more of those and if you still hate the word,it is not the word that is important,it’s the idea and the ambition behind it,because

15、eijing about women ’s rights,Sadly many of the things that she wanted to change,are still true today.But what stood out for me the most was that less than 30 percent of the audience were male !997 年,希拉里克林顿在北京就女性权利发表了一次闻名演讲,缺憾的是许多当时她力求变更的状况,在今日任然存在,但我更留意到男性观众少于 30的事实 How can we affect change in

17、seen my father’s role as a parent being valued less by society,despite my needing his presenceas a child as much as my mother’s 因为是指今日,我见证到最为家长,父亲的角色被社会所轻视,尽管孩童时代我须要父母赐予同样的关照I’ve seen young men suffering from mental illness unable to ask for help,for fear it would make them less of

22、each other by what we are not and start defining ourselves by who we are,we can all be freer and this is what HeForShe is about,It’s about freedom 假如我们能不再通过消减异性的特征来定义自己,而起先正视自己所拥有的一切特质,我们都将变得更自由,这就是 HeForShe 的意义所在,它与自由休戚相关I want men to take up this mantle so their daughters sisters and mothers
23、 can be free from prejudice,but also so their sons have permission to be vulnerable and human too 我希望男同胞们能传承这样的信念,那么他们的女儿们,姐妹们和母亲们都会免于遭遇卑视,同时他们的儿子们也有权利释放自己的脆弱和更人性化的一面We claim those parts of themselves they abandoned and in doing so be a more true and complete version of themselves 我们珍视他们所抛弃掉的那一部分人性我
24、们这样做是为了他们能够保留更为真实和完整的人性You might be thinking who is this Harry Potter girl and what is she doing speaking at the U.N. And it’s really good question,I’ve been asking myself the same thing,All I knowis that I care about this problem and I want to make it better,And having seen what I&rsquo
