They rode at a fast speed of up to 100 miles a day. If there were an emergency, one might have to ride 200 miles in a day. The ride could be dangero
15、us, because attacks by Native Americans were common. Riders should be brave enough.The Pony Express played an important role for a time, but it did not last. The Civil War started in April, 1861.
