3、als.Nowadays, in the modern society there are many people who areregarded as the successful. And the most obvious characteristics of hem aremoney, high position and luxurious life. So most people believe that s successand all that they do is for this purpose. But the problem is wether it is realsucc

4、ess. We all know there are always more money, higher position and bettercondition in front of us. If we keep chasing them, where is the end? What willsatisfy us at last? Therefore, we can see, to get the real Success we must needsomething inside, which is the realization of people hopes and ideals.

5、Different people have different ideas about success; cause peoples hopesand ideas vary from one another. But I am sure every success is dear toeverybody, cause it is not easy to come by, cause in the process of our strivingfor success, we got both our body and soul tempted, meanwhile we are enlighte

6、nedby the most valuable qualities of human beings: love, patient, courage and senseof responsibility. These are the best treasures. So now I am very proud that Ihave this opportunity to stand here speaking to all of you. It is my success,cause I raise up to challenge my hope. What is success? Everyo

8、, ladies and gentlemen: It is a great honor and pleasure to be here on this beautiful Saturdaymorning to share with you my sentiments about life and passion for the Englishlanguage. About a year and a half ago, I took part in my very first English SpeechContest. When I stood before the microphone wi

9、th all eyes starring directly atme, I could hardly speak. I stood there, embarrassed and helpless, struggling invain for the right thing to say. My fears had paralyzed me. While my passion for English has never changed, I lost my courage to speakin public. When my professor again encouraged me to ta

10、ke part in thisCompetition, I said “no.” I couldnt endure yet another painful experience. Helooked me straight in the eye and said something that pierced my heart. I willnever forget his words. “Look,” he said, “We all have our fears, and you haveyours. You could twist your ankle in a basketball gam

11、e, but then be afraid toever play again. Running away can never dispel your fears, but action will. Awinner is not one who never fails，but one who never quits.” I spent a whole day with his words twisting and turning in my mind. Then Imade the bravest and wisest decision of my life: I would face my

12、fears andtake part in the competition! As it turned out, my dear old professor was right. Now, here I am, onceagain standing before a microphone. 19、g together owing to differentcourses choosing， which requires us to devote more energy to buildingrelationship。 for the other thing， it is also vital to municate with yourparents often by using mobile phones or other tools。 secondly， the temptations。 the college serves us a more relaxed environmentm

20、ixed with other temptations such as the internet， alcohols and so on。 whatsmore， the college teachers wont pel you to study like before， you doze off orplay cell phone in class， and you flee up the morning class because you get uptoo late。 such too frequent behaviors will cripple your passion and en

21、thusiasmtowards life， so it is essential for us to resist these temptations and insistpursuing our own goals。 thirdly， the balance between study and work。 most of us will choose to takea part time job to earn the extra money or just to exercise ourselves。 but it issignificant to keep a relatively ba

22、lanced relationship between them since ialways regard the study as our main task， so my principle is adjusting work tofollow the schedule of study。 in conclusion， whatever issues we meet or miseries we suffer from， confrontthe hash reality head on， what we can do is remembering the past， living in t

Today I would like to talk about the importance of keepingoptimistic。 When we encounter difficulties in life， we notice that some of uschoose to bury their heads in the sand。 Unfo

24、rtunately， however， this attitudewill do you no good， because if you will have no courage even to face them， howcan you conquer them? Thus， be optimistic， ladies and gentlemen， as it can giveyou confidence and help you see yourself through the hard times， just as WinstonChurchill once said， “An opti

25、mist sees an opportunity in every calamity; apessimist sees a calamity in every opportunity。” Ladies and Gentlemen， keeping optimistic， you will be able to realize， inspite of some hardship， theres always hope waiting for you， which will lead youto the ultimate success。 Historically as well as curre

26、ntly， there are too manyoptimists of this kind to enumerate。 You see， Thomas Edison is optimistic; ifnot， the light of hope in his heart could not illuminate the whole world。 AlfredNobel is optimistic; if not， the explosives and the prestigious Nobel Prizewould not have e into being。 And Lance Armst

27、rong is also optimistic; if not， thedevil of cancer would have devoured his life and the world would not see a5-time winner of the Tour De France。 A rose may be beautiful， or maybe not; that depends on your attitude only，and so does success， so does life。 Hindrances and difficulties do exist， but ifyou are optimistic， then they are only episodes on your long way to the throneof success; they are more bridges than obstacles!
