It includes Modern heroes, History makers, Sports Starts, Superhero. In this unit Ss will learn something a
2、bout some famous heroes and heroines, especially their spirit. Analysis of the students: The students are newly in Grade 1 and most of them are from countryside. They are poor in English and have difficulty with reading skills. I will instruct them to develop proper reading strategies, find the clue
3、 of the text and get the main idea of each paragraph. Analysis of teaching objectives : 1. Knowledge objects a.Students can hear, read, and use new words, phrases, the main sentence patterns. b.Students can understand the content of the lessons c.Students can use the patterns to express their though
4、ts in proper situation2. Ability objects a.To develop the Ss abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Especially speaking and writing ability. b. To train the Ss ability of working in pairs. c.To improve the Ss reading ability ,especially their skimming and scanning ability.3. Emotion
5、objects a. Learn from heroes, communicate and express their ideas in English bravely. b. Introduce heroes in English. c. Develop Ss will to overcome difficulties and perseverance. Teaching important and difficult points: 1. How to make Ss master the new words, phrases, sentence patterns. 2. How to h
6、elp Ss have a better understanding of the texts. 3. How to get Ss use grammar correctly in practice. . Teaching Methods: 1.Task-based teaching method 2.Communicative teaching method 3.Whole language teaching method Studying Methods: 1. Teach the students how to be successful language learners 2. Let

Teaching Procedures:Step 1 warm-up and culture corner In this period, well first talk about different kinds of heroes and heroines. Then deal with the culture corner-space heroes. In this way, we can get Ss familiar with t
8、he topics and make a good preparation for lesson 1.Step 2 Reading(lesson 1,3 & 4) In this unit, there are three passages. They are National Hero, Sports Stars and Superhero. I will adopt the teaching methods, that is, pre-reading, while-reading and post-reading. Part1 Pre-reading:Generally speaking,
9、 In my lesson, first,Ill ask Ss to predict what the text is about according to the title or the pictures. then use some related pictures to arouse Ss interest and introduce the text. Part2 While-reading:Task1 Fast reading(The purpose is to improve the students skimming ability.)Task2 Careful reading
10、(The purpose is to practice the students ability of obtaining specific information, and to further strengthen vocabulary.) Part3 Post-reading:In this part, usually Ill list some key words for Ss to retell the text.The purpose is to transform the students input into output, improve their ability of r
11、etelling and train their awareness of co-operation and competition.Step 3 GrammarIn this unit, well review the Past Simple, Past Continuous and Present Perfect tenses. For Grammar learning, Ill take “ObservationImitationPractice” strategy to help Ss. a.Observation Look at the sentences in pairs, wor
12、k out the differences between Past Simple and Past Continuous.1. The surface of the spaceship was glowing red when it came back into the earths atmosphere.2. Millions of people all over China were watching TV when the spaceship touched down safely. b.Imitation c.Practice Here Id like to let Ss pract
13、ice using the two tenses to do exercise 3 on P70. what I want to stress is that I ll choose some short passages for Ss to practice using tenses. I believe specific contexts can help Ss master the grammar better.Step 4 listeningDue to kinds of reasons, our Ss pay less attention to listening, most of
14、them arent able to listen successfully, they dont like to listen, even they are afraid to listen. Besides, the listening materials in lesson 2 are very difficult. So in order to give Ss confidence and reduce difficulty, first Ill make Ss know about the background knowledge related to the listening,
15、then teach them difficult words and sentences. Before listening, ask Ss to read the listening strategies. After listening, Ss should finish exercise 2 & 5.Step 5 Communication workshop 1. In previous lessons, especially reading lessons, Ss get familiar with the topics and accumulate some language materials, so it is easy for them to talk sth about heroes.2. Before speaking, ask Ss to read the speaking strategies and prepare for the discussion.3. Ss first discuss in groups and then report their work to the whole class.Homework:Write a short passage about heroes.
