2、 use in daily life as an important form of communication. By learning this unit, students are required to raise their awareness of using body language in different cultures and circumstances. Besides, as a listening and speaking lesson, it provides time and chances for students to practice two very

3、basic language skills. It also enables students to get familiar and mast new words and expressions further, helping them to expanse the major topic in the meantime.II. Study Situation Analysis Book 4 is designed for students of Grade Two in senior high school. Normally speaking, students of this gra

4、de should have built up a relatively complete English knowledge framework. And they are supposed to learn English, research methods and cooperate with others gradually by their own. But unfortunately, my students ability and level are greatly below the average. Whats worse, being haunted by frustrat

5、ion and desperation for years, most students have lost confidence and raised severe study weariness. In view of the facts, I will try to make the course as easy as possible, hoping that could evoke my students confidence and interest.III. Teaching Goals Knowledge Aims: 1. To make students review and

6、 use new words and expressions.2. To help students learn more information about body language.Ability Aims:1. To improve students ability of taking notes while listening.2. Do a quick warming up by asking students to read the vocabulary of Unit 4. 2. Show students pictures on textbook page 65. Encourage them to use as many words as

10、they can to describe the pictures.Step 2. Listening (31 minutes)Part 1. Listening Task on Page 65 ( 11 minutes)Pre-listening1. Guessing game. Give students two minutes to discuss and guess what happens according to the pictures. And then ask some groups to share their answers.2. Cue students to take

11、 notes while theyre listening and mark the orders of the pictures.While-listening1. Play the listening material twice. For the first time, let the dialogue play at original speed. For the second time, let it stop briefly at each section.2. Observe students while theyre doing the task. Pay attention

12、to their moods and methods.Post-listening1. Ask for answers from students.2. Publish the correct answers by playing the material again with essential explanation.3. Give a short comments on students performance and provide some advice.Part 2. Listening Task on Page 62. ( 20 minutes)Pre-listening1. T

13、his task is quiet difficult for my students, so thorough preparation would be necessary and helpful. I will use about two minutes to remind them of what theyve learnt in Unit 1. And enlighten them with a question “Do you think chimps can use body languages just like us? ”.2. Give students five minut

14、es to read and translate the questions of Exercise 2 and 3 on page 62. They can choose to do this individually or collectively with group members.While-listeningPlay the listening material twice. For the first time, original speed. For the second time, make it stop at each section.Post-listening1. A

15、sk students to show their answers of Exercise 2 immediately.2. Students will have three minutes to organize and discuss answers of Exercise 3, then answer in public orally. 3. Publish the correct answers by playing the mp3 again with interpretations.Step 3. Speaking (5 minutes) 1. Students read and

16、translate the expressions of Talking on Page 62. 2. Have students translate these phrases alternately at once. 3. Walk through the classroom and choose students randomly to act one or two expressions. Let the others guess and answer.Step 4. Homework Organize the answers of Exercise 2 on Page 62, and write a short essay based on them.
