The word “ tingle” spreads the effect to readers that they could feel her feeling of excitement, achievement and victory through a feel of pain all over her body. The three quotes also show the writers feelings during three stages o
17、f the race: tense and excited (before the race); struggling and fearful (during the race) and victorious (in the end). 2. They highlight the key messages which she kept telling herself, the messages which helped her win. She invites readers to see her inner thoughts with this simple and factual info
